These are the words of former Israeli ambassador to Egypt Zvi Mazel. He noted that Egyptian Defense Minister Abel-Fattah el-Sisi is not a Muslim Brotherhood member despite being a pious Muslim and he has showed full independence.
Once President Morsi came into power, he saw he could not control the army or promote Muslim Brotherhood officers because Mubarak had done a good job filtering them out of the military.
The regime has been seeking to build the foundations for an Islamic state, but at the same time it completely neglected the economy, said Mazel.
“There are around 500,000-700,000 very brainwashed Muslim Brotherhood members and they are ready to die for the Muslim Brotherhood,” he concluded.

My comment:
I might be wrong, and the Egyptians able to overthrow the US sponsored Muslim Brotherhood.
But like fascists regimes in the past, the totalitarian forces will not go down without a fight.
The main challenge for the Muslim Brotherhood, is that is has had very little time to turn Egypt into an Islamic state. They have not been able to fully replace the secular generals in the Egyptian army, with Islamic loyalists.
Lets wait and watch.
