97 boats stranded on sluggish Mississippi

The drought is drying up the mighty Mississippi as well as farmers’ fields.

The drought in the US will lead to an increase in food prices. The fragile US economy will also be hit.

An 11-mile stretch of the river has been closed due to low water levels, stranding 97 boats while dredging is carried out, and navigation markers are replaced, CBS reports.

Officials say it’s not clear when the river, which transports USD160 billion of cargo a year, will be reopened.
A vessel ran aground in the now-closed stretch near Greenville in Mississippi, and there have been multiple other groundings upriver near Memphis.

The drought in the USA is the worst since 1988.

The same stretch was closed in 1988, when a drought caused the river to sink to a record low.

Near Memphis, where water levels are 12 feet below normal, the US Army Corps of Engineers dredger Hurley is at work removing up to 5,000 cubic yards of sediment per hour.

“If we lose the river system, it’s just like losing the interstate highway system,” its captain tells Fox News. “Commerce is a vital part of our nation. This is a main artery for commerce.”

My comment:

As of last week, 87 per cent of the U.S. corn crop, 85 per cent of soybeans, 63 per cent of hay, and 72 per cent of cattle areas were experiencing drought.

Many Christians feel we are at the end of the age, just before the Lion of Judah will roar.

Jesus has the following message to all of us, a message which also include America.

 Luke 21:11
There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

What are you going to do about this?

Give your life to Jesus today, and escape the coming judgment.

  1. Amen …Thank you for that Map of the U.S.
Truly anyone can see this is the Hand of The Lord! and as the rain falls upon the good and the wicked, so shall the rise in prices be susceptible to the believers.

1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

    1. According to the Word of God, we can all expect to see a worsening of famine, weather, and more as the coming of Christ is near.

  2. Yes and the presidential candidates on both sides are not saying the things that would give God almighty any reason to give us rain.
Its all about the economy and jobs. No morality issues are spoken of any more. They are truly on the back burner. We will continue to drought and burn in the west because we have forgotten God. You know I heard yesterday that of all the colleges in the US, only 25 teach creationism as fact. America will continue to decline unless she repents. I blame most of it on the so called “church” The church has failed miserably

    1. Yes it is Rebecca, yes it is….very sobering! And we are here in these Last Days beholding (looking) upon prophesy being fulfilled!
