Rivlin to Ben-Ari: Stop giving the Knesset a bad name; National Union MK tore up New Testament, blamed it for Jewish deaths.
Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein should press incitement charges against MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) for tearing a New Testament and throwing it in the trash, the Knesset’s sole Christian MK, Hanna Sweid, said.
“This is hooliganism, bullying and an apocalyptic act of hatred that was baseless and unnecessary,” Sweid told The Jerusalem Post after Ben-Ari destroyed the book, which was mailed to all 120 MKs by a messianic Jewish organization.
“This reflects the culture of a man who is dangerous to nations and religions of the world.”
Sweid, an MK in the Arab- Jewish socialist faction Hadash, complained to the Knesset Ethics Committee, but said he has no doubt that it will not punish Ben-Ari effectively or remove his parliamentary immunity.
He was also skeptical that the Attorney- General’s Office would heed his call, though he called Ben-Ari’s actions on Tuesday “incitement,” and expressed fears that they would encourage the public “to raise a hand against Christians.”

I would not mind getting a Hebrew Torah sent to my office by mail. And I would be absolutely delighted if someone would send me an English version of this sacred Jewish book.
Since the Torah is an integrated part of my Bible, it would be unthinkable removing it, or seeing anyone damage this part of the Bible.
It is sad that an Israeli MK who claim to know God, is destroying a part of the Bible he disagree with. Even though, by best guess is that he has not even opened this book. That his act of destruction is covered by the papers, means he invited the Israeli press to this event.
Can anyone tell me the basic difference between the Nazis burning Jewish books, and this man destroying a Jewish book?
Unfortunately, some men will rather launch a war against the Lamb of God, than be willing to listen to His words.
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.
The Messiah has told his followers to act with dignity and respect towards all who disagree with Him. Yeshua the Messiah was surely more Jewish than this MK, and people who support this act.
