Bible lesson # 14: Timothy´s mother the ideal pastor for the Church

Who raised Timothy in faith? Why did God chose a married woman judge to rule Israel? Why do some Christian leaders hide the teaching talents of the daughters of Jesus?

A mans World, denying female pastorship
A mans World, denying female pastorship. Not even permitting them to get married.

What I am about to tell you, will steer up many Catholics and many claimed to be conservative Christians. I dont care. Let the Word of God be my only judge.

1. Timothy 2:12
«I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.»

The out of context use of this verse of the Bible has made mainstream Christianity into a «kindergarten for men». But was that Pauls intention? I am not only doubtful, I am sure that Paul promoted women in scriptural leadership. And I will quote scriptures to plead my understanding of Paul.

First, lets see what Paul did not write:

«God do not permit». The whole start of this letter to Timothy is full of «I do». Other places Paul claims to speak on behalf of God or the Lord. Here he seems to speak about some kind of bad experiences, that has made him come to such a conclusion.

Lets remove the word «man» with the word «male children». And lets see what happens:

1. Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over male children; she must be silent.

This can obviously not be the case, since all mothers are the first teachers of their own children.

Let replace the word «man» with «husband», and let see whats happen:

1. Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over her husband; she must be silent.

Now, this will make sense. The Bible says that the man (husband) is the head of the House. But he has to love his wife, as Christ loved the Church. And since Jesus was willing to die for his Church, a man (husband) must become a slave of his wife. If that hurts your male ego, you have to go back to Jesus, repent and start obeying the Word of God.

There was a lot of disturbance in the Church of Corinth. This might have inspired Paul to put some restrictions on wife’s quarreling with their husbands. In special inside the Church, during fellowship.

Since the Bible can not contradict it self, we need to read the message of Paul in the right context.

1. Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over children; she must be silent.

If he ment that a woman can never teach a male, than the mother of Timothy her self sinned against the Word of God. Because she raised Timothy in faith, and even made him understand the scriptures from his infancy.

2 Timothy 3:15
«and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus».

Thats a good Bible teachers job. A woman, and even a believing grandmother was the first born in Timothys family.

2 Timothy 1:5
«I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also».

If God did not enable and allowed these two women to tech Timothy, his Bible knowledge from infancy would have been an impossibility.

What about the father of Timothy?

Well, the Bible is almost silent about him.

Act 16:1
«He came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was a Jewess and a believer, but whose father was a Greek».

Well, since the Bible explains that the mother and grandmother of Timothy had come to faith, I guess his Greek father had not. He would simply not be able to teach his son the meaning of the scripture.

Since the mother of Timothy could teach her son the scripture from infancy, I guess she would be permitted to teach his also in his youth? What about the mother of Timothy teaching her own husband, the day he came to faith? Since she with almost hundred per cent surely would be more learned in the Word of God than her husband?

The mother and grandmother of Timothy are only two of many examples of great female teachers in the Bible. I guess Mary the Mother of Jesus was His first teacher of the Jewish scriptures?

Many of those who are against woman giving pastoral care to a church, does not understand that the word pastor is of latin origin, not the original Biblical language. The Hebrew word for pastor is shepherd.

And there is a woman pastor even in the Old Testament:

Genesis 29:9
«While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess».

The wife of Jacob, the father of the 12 tribes of Israel, was what all Biblical women is called to become: A female pastor. Because we are all priests in the new testament Royal Priesthood. The old exclusive male priesthood of Aroon has passed away in the new covenant.

Daughters of Jesus. Stand up for your biblical birth rights.

  1. First of all, isn’t this article in celebration of “Mother’s Day”? As much as we love our mothers, we have to wake up to the reality that “mother’s day” (a) is not Biblical but man-made. (b) What is not Biblical we as believers and followers of the G-d of Israel should cut-off this celebration including all other festivities such as Christmas, new year, easter, valentine, halloween, and so on, for they are of the occult and an insult to the Holy God of Israel.

Miriam(Mary) was without doubt a wonderful mother of Yahshua(Jesus) and also her other children but Yahshuah(Jesus) and His half-brothers and sisters did not celebrate “mother’s day”. So the question is why do we have to celebrate this “mother’s day” to provoke G-d when we know that He is a jealous G-d? I believe a “mother’s day” is everyday starting from the day she realizes she is with child.

As mothers, women have their own special roles in managing their homes and raising their children with G-d-given sense, love and authority. They can be literal shepherds because some women do tend their sheep and also they can symbolically be shepherds of their children as both sheep and children are vulnerable and need to be watched and huddled together all the time. Women can teach children up to the age of 20 where the boy becomes a man. This role is generally at home – not in the congregation. The role for the women in congregation life can vary from worship like Miriam. Dance in worship like Miriam and other non-authority roles where a mixed group of people may be. These teachings are mandatory to be passed on from generation to generation among the Jews and so the Jews have adhered to the rules. The Jewish father too has a great role in teaching his children particularly boys and in the process they learn the characteristics of the father consequently drawing them close to both their earthly father and their Heavenly Father. This is the uniqueness about Jews and their Hebraic teaching. Therefore, is it any surprise that the Jews are intelligent and highly successful in every field they choose? In the case of Timothy and many other Jews who had/have gentile fathers it’s a different scenario, in this case it is the Jewish mother’s sole responsibility to take on the task of teaching her children as well as her gentile husband or perhaps request a male relative from the household to do so for the Salvation of her children and her husband is important here.
    ……………………………………………
You quoted in the ending paragraph:
    [Genesis 29:9}
«While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess».
The wife of Jacob, the father of the 12 tribes of Israel, was what all Biblical women is called to become: A female pastor.
    ……………………………………………
Women Pastors? Naaah!! I strongly refute this. Teachers? – Yes! Pastors? – No! Ivar, this quote is according to your own understanding because there is no scripture in the Bible where a woman was ordained as a pastor(priest) for temple service. Rachel the wife of Jacob was a shepherd girl not a pastor or better still priestess. Even Moses’wife Ziphora was a shepherd girl and not a pastor, but her father was a Midian priest. Even in the orthodox Jewish synagogues, it’s a rule that women cannot sit among men not even with their husbands but they have a separate place (unlike Christian churches). Also since you are a fan of Saul/Paul he himself preached in {1-Tim 2:11 Let a woman learn in peace, fully submitted; 1-Tim. 2:12 but I do not permit a woman to teach a man or exercise authority over him; rather, she is to remain at peace} or silent as you quoted. – Well, isn’t this a clear indication that no woman can be pastor or even be called rabbi?

In the English dictionary, the meaning of pastor greatly differs from that of a shepherd even though the Hebrew word for shepherd can mean pastor, it does not necessarily mean a woman can also have the role of a priest. The Hebrew language is unique with multiple meanings for a word and has a wider and deeper understanding. Therefore, it cannot blend with meanings of words of other languages. This is the reason we have so much confusion and scarce understanding of scriptures from translated Bibles. Little knowledge and understanding can be disastrous especially to new believers who are yearning to know the truth. The best way to study the Bible is according to the Hebraic perspective.

The meaning of PASTOR in English is: Priest, minister, member of the clergy, … (makes sense here).
The meaning of SHEPHERD in English is: Marshal, guide, steer, propel, direct, lead, pilot organize… (what a difference from pastor).
The meaning in Spanish for Pastor is Shepherd and Shepherd is Pastor = Pastor or priest (what a confusion).
The meaning in Hebrew for Shepherd is Pastor and Pastor is shepherd – (each has a separate understanding, by now the Hebrew language should make you curios).

Apart from the different translations of bibles, Paul’s writings are a confusion. Even though he may have been a highly educated Pharisee yet he had no training at all from Yahshuah. Yahshuah had never even met him personally nor did Paul meet Yahshuah personally hence, Paul did not have the qualification of Yashuah’s teaching that the 12 apostles had, for these 12 Jewish men were with Yashuah all through the day learning and observing everything He did for 3½ (three and half years). The bottom line: The qualification that the 12 apostles acquired from Yashuah was far greater than that of the Pharisiac qualification of Paul. The apostles had acquired the degree from Yahshuah with flying colors to go into the world and minister – but – Paul did not. So think about it should we or should we not follow YAHSHUAH’s teaching only?

The Bible is the Book of Instructions on how men and women should live and the roles that they should perform in their lives. When something from the Bible does not pertain to us, we must refrain from it or face the consequences, every error will be accounted for our correction by G-d. There are many Christian women pastors in America, and around the world, but shouldn’t they carefully examine the scriptures to see if it’s right to claim this position in the higher office of G-d. I believe Yahshuah chose the 12 Jewish male apostles (Note: no females here) as the pattern of the structure of His Heavenly and earthly temple, therefore, the role of pastor belongs to the man and not to the woman (PERIOD).

    Lastly:
    ……………………………………………
You quoted: [Because we are all priests in the new testament Royal Priesthood. The old exclusive male priesthood of Aroon has passed away in the new covenant].
    …………………………………………..
    a) Do you think that the Old Testament has been made obsolete or are you making it obsolete here? Your either way of thinking is WRONG. Every word in the Bible is the Word of God and it is a statute and no word was ever changed, not even by Yahshuah. No offense, but get a grip on the Word of God Ivar!
b)The name Aroon is a moslem name, the correct name is “Aaron” the biological brother of Moses.
    …………………………………………
You quoted: [Daughters of Jesus. Stand up for your biblical birth rights].
    ……………………………………………
    a) Well, I say YHVH called Aaron and his sons to be priests and not his daughters.
    b) You can call the daughters of Jesus to stand up for whatever their rights may be – but –
    c) YASHUAH had already chosen 144,000 (Hundred and forty four thousand) young Jewish virgin men 2000 years ago to serve in His Temple which is going to be the 4th Temple that will be built according to YAHSHUAH MESSIAH’s instruction. So now my question is:-
    d) Where will you fit in the daughters of Jesus? In the 3rd temple that is going to be built on the Temple mount?

Ivar, something for you to ponder on seriously.

May the Lord enlighten you. Blessings.

  2. Shalom Ivar,

I would like to mention that the understanding of the scriptures should have a distinct explanation, and not use terms such as “I think” “I’m sure” “Maybe” “I guess” etc. this can cause confusion in the minds of new believers.

We cannot play around with scriptures to fit them according to our fancy. Scriptures are not a rubik cube, color combination, or coordinates for apparel. They are the Holy Words of G-d and must be revered, the scriptures are so Holy that they are even untouchable and Jews use special pointers while reading them.

The following paragraph of yours made my brain a bit fuzzy.
    …………………………………………….
    ………………………………………………
    My quote:
I say both husband and wife are not slaves to each other, but are one in the eyes of the Lord who created them, though I do agree that the husband is the head of the house just as Y’shua is the head of the Temple. And yes, He willingly died to save us from going to hell, but, His death does not make the husband a slave to his wife because if that is the case, it means, you are implying that Y’shua died and became a slave to us, is that so? I don’t believe this and I’m still shaking my head. Lol!

    1. Dear Lone Eagle.

      Mark 10:43-45

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

A Christian leader has to be a slave of them all. Jesus washed the feet of his students. Yes, husband and wife must be a slave of each other. They will be so, if they are both Christians.

      1. Dear Ivar,
Is this what your Church teaches you? Then it’s very, very sad because to be humble is one thing and to be in slavery is another. Yeshuah came to us to get us out of slavery which is bondage. Here’s a better definition for slavery: {The state or condition of being held in involuntary servitude as the PROPERTY OF SOMEBODY ELSE}. This somebody is none other than satan. Have you ever thought why G-d would create 2 beautiful human beings and make them slaves to each other? You are completely misinterpreting the scriptures. Ivar, since you are a Christian you can be a slave ….. but “I AM MY BELOVED’s AND MY BELOVED IS MINE” (Song of Solomon 6: v3). My beloved is Yeshua who paid a ransom with His Life to get me out from the clutches of satan and from all kinds of slavery, and to set me free. I couldn’t think of belonging to anyone but HIM who created me.

In the last line of your comment you said: “They will be so, if they are both Christians”.
        ———————————————–
Well, thank you, for now I agree with you because this slavery you are referring to is specifically for Christians and perhaps for Catholics too because both these are religions and religions are a bondage- — but since I am not into any religion this bondage or slavery DOES NOT pertain to me at all. I follow Yeshuah who Himself is the TORAH and in Him I have been free … AMEN. Problem solved. Case closed.

    2. LoneEagle,

You said “the scriptures are so Holy that they are even untouchable and Jews use special pointers while reading them.”
To use special pointers while reading the holy words of God is not biblical. In fact, it would be following man-made rules. Jesus says we worship God in vain when we follow man-made rules. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and teachers of the law for doing such things.

      1. Dear Victoria.

Shalom, and thanks for this comment. Jesus did in fact rebuke many Jews, in fact the religious leaders of his present day. They had made lots of man made rules, and put heavy yokes on the Jewish people. In regards to Orthodox Judaism today, not much has changed. Jesus is the perfect Jew. He is the only one who loves them without restrictions and limitations.

      2. Victoria,

Re. Special Pointers for Torah Reading:

I’m glad you brought up this point for now I can explain better. However, first I would like to say this; if I were you, I would first do my homework rather than just fire out a remark according to my own understanding.
Now, apart from the Word of G-d being the Instruction for our lives, it is also the Base where the clue is given but we have to go out to explore otherwise our brains will be dormant and we would find the Bible to be a boring book. The Bible is the place where you keep digging and keep on finding the endless gold. So here I have the pleasure of sharing with you the scripture from the very mouth of the Lord Yeshuah(Jesus) on the TORAH POINTER and it’s understanding according to the Hebrew Bible:

        Scripture: {Matt.5.17-18 Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets, I have come not to abolish but to complete. V.18-Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away not so much as “a yad” or “a stroke” will pass from the Torah – not until everything that must happen has happened.} {The translation in the KJV read “one jot” or “one tittle” in place of “ one yad” or a “ one stroke”}

Insight: The tiny strokes or tittles are on specific alphabets. The yad* is the pointer that is shaped like a hand with the forefinger pointing to read the scriptures. Every letter on the scroll is painstakingly written by hand with special pens and in special ink. One does not touch the parchment scroll, both because of its holiness and because the oils of the hands can damage the delicate writing, rendering the scroll unacceptable for use for a public reading. Therefore, the reader keeps his/her place in the scroll using the “Yad”.

Now, if this practice has continued by the instructions of G-d since the time the Torah was given to Moses, do you seriously believe that Yeshuah(Jesus) would go against His father’s instructions? If the Jews are still using the pointer, then it means Yeshuah used it too, for Yeshuah was not a Christian or Catholic … but HE WAS, IS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE AN ORTHODOX JEW. There’s tons of teaching on just this little “tittle”, you can do the rest of the homework yourself. If you don’t agree to what I’ve written, then it’s your folly for not absorbing, learning and getting nearer to G-d.
Ivar, that goes for you too. Don’t take my word for it, but please open your Bibles and do your own research while I prepare for my next attack from your guys 🙂

      3. Dear Lone Eagle.

        Shalom, and thanks for this comment;

        You wrote:

Yeshuah was not a Christian or Catholic … but HE WAS, IS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE AN ORTHODOX JEW.

        My comment:

If Yeshua was an Orthodox Jew, why did they not, and do still not, believe He is the Messiah?

  3. Ivar,

I have put enough on the platter, now you do your homework. I repeat as in the above comment, if G-d had made the Bible very easy by giving us all the answers then our brains would have rusted and every one of us would have died spiritually. What makes the Bible so interesting is the digging and exploring we do and finding the treasures in it that are never ending. So take my Godly advice, say goodbye to Christian religion (bondage), say goodbye to Saul/Paul’s false teaching and open your heart to the TORAH for the TORAH is the Lord Yeshuah Messiah(Jesus)Himself. If you reject the Torah, He will reject you. Study the COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE, translated by DAVID H. STERN. For further nourishment of the soul visit : http://www.bethgoyim.org

    Be blessed.

    1. Dear LoneEagle

      Shalom.

I have read a book of David H. Stern, and I have read quit a few verses from his translation of the Bible. I have questioned what He teach. I call it «New Judaism». Paul the Apostle in one of his targets. Stern feel Paul misunderstood Rabbi Jesus. That we are still under the Law, but not under a legalistic understanding of the Law. This view will create a new religion. I basically can chose the part of the Law I want to observe, and overlook the rest. This kind of faith leads me into a New Age copy of «Jesus». Easily, it makes such followers hypocrites. You hide the fact that you are not able to obey and observe over 600 Law`s given in the Torah and the Tanakh.

We are not under Law, but under grace. And if righteousness could have been granted by observing the Law, there was no need for Jesus of Nazareth to redeem us with His blood at Calvary Hill. Dearest sister. Please come back under His throne of grace, and be gracious towards others. Just like Jesus is gracious towards you. Amen.

  4. Ivar,

1)) You really shock me with your replies sometimes because you just fail to see the truth of G-d’s Word rather choose to follow in your own understanding. This problem is not only with you but majority of Christians in the world today. The Lord’s Words: {{Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish – Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge}} You fail to see that the Torah is the blueprint that God used to create the world, and that our lives depend on the laws of God. The Torah is the shield, the canopy, the pavilion, that keeps us covered and close to him. {{Psalm 57:2-In the shadow of your wings I will find refuge}} This is the Torah.

2)) D.H.Stern Bible translation: This is a translation that is now widely used. The understanding is Hebraic made easy. If you have read it and questioned it and call it <>, then I can only feel sorry and concerned for your soul because you will never know the true beauty and joy of the Word of the Lord. Ivar, I can see that you have a good heart but you are confused and your ego prevents you from accepting the truth. May the Lord help you in this area.

3)) Re. Paul, he is a mystery man, he appeared out of nowhere, he became a thorn among the apostles and also among other Jews causing confusion and conflict by teaching contrary to that of Yeshua. If Paul had not bulldozed his way among the apostles, I am positive that many Jews would have accepted Yeshua because many orthodox Jews believed in HIM while HE was with them but were afraid to speak lest they would suffer under those terrible Pharisees.
Yeshua also said in {{John.5:43-I come in my father’s name and you receive me not; but if another shall come in his own name, him will you receive.}} Well, this someone is Paul. You are a fan of Paul but I am not and never will be so following the teachings of Paul will be following the teachings of the devil. Never liked him even before I gave my heart to the Lord.

    http://false-apostle-paul-archive.blogspot.com/2010/03/who-was-st-paul.html

    4)) Your quote: <>
This is absurd, because even the Jews don’t have to follow every law. If you are referring that I follow each and every law then, No, all the laws are not for everyone, such as : The laws specifically pertaining to Temple Priests and others in the office of G-d, would these pertain to me? You answer that? But G-d’s dietary laws? Yes, these pertain to me, while Christians like you eat scavenger meats like pork, shrimps, octopuses, rabbits, frogs, the Roman delicacies that are strictly forbidden by G-d,I eat only what G-d says to eat.
I am not the perfect person on the face of this earth, but having learned who G-d really is and what He requires of me, I have strictly adhered to it and I am always observing and learning and researching. Here again it’s a choice, whoever wants to keep G-d’s Word can keep it and be blessed or refuse it and be under a curse.{{Deut: 30:15-20}}. When I keep writing about the Torah, I am referring to the Feasts of the Lord or some call it Feasts of Israel and the rest what Yeshua requires from us. These are the most important Feasts that Yeshua wants us to strictly follow, they are not just for the Jews. These Feasts are really called “appointments” that have much to do with the coming problems in the world. If you don’t study them now, then you are going to panic when the time comes and get caught up in the www(world-wide-web) and drag along others who follow you. Very Sad indeed!!

5)) Re. Your last paragraph {{“We are not under Law, but under grace…………..”}} Every time I hear the same about grace and faith and saved by the blood of Jesus etc.. It’s like saying: {{“I’m now born again, no problem I’m saved”}} Really, Ivar, people who go by this kind of thinking are in dreamland and are fooling themselves. It’s a waste of precious time to even discuss the truth with such people because just the way catholics are hard-nuts-to-crack so are thousands of Christians including my own friends and family – I can only feel sorry for all of you, for you all will never, ever know the beauty that lies within the Torah.

6)) Your last sentence in the last para: {{Please come back under His throne of grace, and be gracious towards others. Just like Jesus is gracious towards you”}} Are you kidding me? You want me to leave my secure place under G-d(Torah) and join those who are on their way to hell? Sorry brother, I’m a very one-track-minded-person when it comes to the Word of G-d. I am firmly planted in His Word and no one, absolutely no one, can pull me away from here. Being gracious is one thing but I would rather go by the Word of the Lord than go by the feelings of others because feelings are going to send me and them to hell. The Lord said: {{Rev 3:16 Because you are lukewarm and neither COLD nor HOT, I will spew you out of My mouth}} – So, you follow Paul, I follow YESHUA(period). Have a nice day.

    1. Dear LoneEagle

      You wrote:

The laws specifically pertaining to Temple Priests and others in the office of G-d, would these pertain to me?

      My reply:

      Why is there no Temple?

Is it because Y´shua said that the Temple was going to be destroyed?

Than I guess He is the enemy of the Jewish people?

Or is the Temple gone because God broke his own Law?

Why was God not able to defend His own Temple?

Why was He unable to protect His own chosen people?

Was it because the majority of the Jewish people did not receive salvation in His Son?

Did God destroy the Temple because of Paul?

Why did God not rather destroy Paul, is stead of the Temple?

Why did God exile His own people to all nations on Earth?

In regards to the Law. Why is the Temple Laws suspended?

I guess the Law says that the Law of Passover is connected to worship in the Temple?

Do the Torah say that Passover was going to be celebrated in the Temple in Jerusalem forever?

Please ask the leader of your fellowship these questions.

      Dear Sister

Please answer me. Why do you not believe in the gospel of mercy and grace?

The truth is painful to the Jewish people, whom I love and support. That Orthodox Judaism can not save them, and because of their rejection of the Messiah He became a stumbling stone for them.

The Messiah is the only way to salvation for both Jews and gentiles. Only His blood can wash my sins white as snow, and save me from God of Israel´s wrath. The stumbling stone is the rock of our faith. Orthodox Judaism has since He walked in flesh on Earth 2000 years ago, tried to blot out His name. They will soon face Him. I know He loves them. Amen.

    2. When you accuse somebody, you should list facts and figures, or you prove yourself a liar against God the Most High.

Your accusation against the Apostle Paul is empty and false, or you don’t know the Bible at all. Your “Yeshua” is not the ONE of the Bible, but one you made up to please yourself. lol

  5. Dear Ivar,

Here responding again to your questions:

Re:The laws specifically pertaining to Temple Priests and others in the office of G-d, would these pertain to me?

    My reply:

Why is there no Temple? –
*** You figure that out!! The issue was about the TORAH(LAW), while the temple was an example. Your understanding of my comment is misunderstood hence you have take a detour from TORAH(LAW) to the “temple” and yes, I can give you tons of explanation on the temple but what good will that do, not only will you take another detour towards some other issue but you will get nowhere ***

    a) Is it because Y´shua said that the Temple was going to be destroyed?
    b) Than I guess He is the enemy of the Jewish people?
    c) Or is the Temple gone because God broke his own Law?
    d) Why was God not able to defend His own Temple?
    e) Why was He unable to protect His own chosen people?
    f) Was it because the majority of the Jewish people did
not receive salvation in His Son?
    g) Did God destroy the Temple because of Paul?

Re. your questions from (a) to (g) I shake my head in disbelief – you are like a little boy – please go do your homework Ivar dear!! For if I give you all the answers, your brain is going to remain dormant and how will you pass and acquire the degree from Yeshua when he comes?

h)Why did God not rather destroy Paul, instead of the Temple?
Ok, maybe I’ll answer this one: Have you ever heard about G-d putting us through “not a test” but many tests? Well, allows the wicked to thrive in order to test mankind. The Bible is full of such examples, I can’t go through all. However, have you read the book of IYOV(Job). Was he a wicked man? Did he have to go through that horrendous test? And did he pass with flying colors?

    i) Why did God exile His own people to all nations on Earth?
    j) In regards to the Law. Why is the Temple Laws suspended?
These questions can easily be found in the Bible, that is if you have the right Bible. Do your own homework.

    k) I guess the Law says that the Law of Passover is connected to worship in the Temple?
If it is not connected to the worship in the Temple(the house of God), then where do you think it is connected in my own house? Do your homework.

Do the Torah say that Passover was going to be celebrated in the Temple in Jerusalem forever?
Ivar, does the word Passover have a significant meaning to you? Because if you had studied the Torah in the Hebraic perspective and not according to the Lutheran Christian then you would not have asked me this question, for your are exposing the kind of knowledge you have of the Word of God. The religion you are into and their bible that you have been thought has blocked your knowledge of THE TRUTH, THE WAY and THE LIFE. You still have a chance before the Great Lion of Judah arrives. GIVE UP YOUR LUTHERAN RELIGION and EMBRACE THE TORAH, WHICH IS YOUR REAL SALVATION.

Please ask the leader of your fellowship these questions. 😀   what a joke, I have a Rabbi well-equipped with the Word-of-God(The Torah), I already know what he is going to say and if you ask him yourself, he is going to tell you the same. Take a try http://www.bethgoyim.org – By the way neither Rabbi Andrew or David H. Stern say anything negative about your friend Paul. It’s because I had my doubts that I decided to check him out and I have found my answers. I don’t need to know more about him.

    Dear Sister

Please answer me. Why do you not believe in the gospel of mercy and grace?
    Because there is no such thing alone in the bible as the “gospel of mercy and grace” The real gospel lies in the Torah and the mercy and grace comes from within the Torah. So if you are going to run to grab just mercy and grace, then Yeshua Messiah is going to say;
“well, Ivar, show me your test papers of my Torah for Grace and Mercy is your prize-crown”.
Would you have them readily available to hand them over to the KING of kings, the LORD of lords, the GOD of gods, the Great Almighty Judge? Something to ponder seriously!!
{{ As per your friend Paul’s quote: 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, Here on earth, in a race only one winner gets the gold medal, but as per the true prophet Isaiah, the heavenly golden crown is for many winners – Isaiah 28:5 In that day YHVH Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people. Isaiah 62:3 You will be a crown of splendor in YHVH’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.}} I do believe this is for all TORAH followers.

The truth is painful to the Jewish people, whom I love and support.
If you truly love and support them then take from them what God has given them, it is the TORAH. Their lives have not been easy since they were chosen as God’s people and they are a people who have suffered the worst of the worst on earth and still do – yet – they have obediently preserved the Torah and practiced it and because they have done this, we gentiles have been blessed to partake of it freely. Now if you want to argue further go ahead but I’m not going to respond because it is a waste of time for me as I can see like through a clear glass that nothing I write really registers in your mind. I hate to say this and I don’t mean to but they are the words of the Lord so I re-quote: {{Matthew 10:14 Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet}} Shaking the dust of the feet is not merely it, but it is a teaching with an in-depth meaning, I won’t get into that.

Amen.
This is all fine what you have written and of course I agree with you BUT again if you do not have a solid base for these your beliefs then it is like this: Preaching and not Practicing” – Ivar, my dear, your Solid Base or Foundation is the TORAH. Why do you and Christians HATE it so?

    1. Dear Lone Eagle.

Shalom, and thanks for long comments:

      You wrote:

      My comment:

The Law (Torah) is flawless and good. I am not. The Law can not make any man perfect. Only Jesus can. He is our only righteousness. Its not correct that followers of Jesus hate the Law. But we understand that He is the Law. He is the Word. And He is the author, the purpose and the fulfillment of our Faith. He desire not religious attitudes, but love, mercy and grace.

  6. Hi Ivar,

OK, have it your way. As I mentioned before though God himself created us, yet He gave us a choice: Deut: 30:15-20 – Choose life or choose death. It’s a blessing and a curse. The very first commandment was obedience. The second was the 7th day rest (Shabbat as per God’s calendar, the most important day of the week). 3) The dietary laws… So actually the initial Torah was given to Adam and Eve. OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY.

    Have a blessed day 🙂

  7. “Timothy´s mother the ideal pastor for the Church”

Timothy’s mother was not in the role of a pastor, but the role of a Godly mother.

A pastor is the shepherd role of feeding God’s sheep with God’s Word, usually a lot of sheep, administering God’s House.

A Godly mother brings her kids to the Lord.

    1 Timothy 2:15
But women will be saved through childbearing, assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty.

  8. First Ivar you are awesome. Ignore the wannabe Jew. He means well but has been douped into thinking he must follow the law Jesus already fulfilled.

    To everyone else:
I am NOT a feminist for those of you who might accuse me of that. I am sick of people saying a pastor/preacher has to be a man. There are no rules set in scripture for this. Also a teacher is not the same as a preacher. Both are spiritual gifts! Like all the gifts they are to be used to encourage and uplift the body of Christ. This is servanthood. 1 Cor is plain about each of the gifts.

As Ivar said the scripture about a woman not teaching a man is often taken out of context. And it has nothing to do with preaching. Preaching the gospel is not teaching. Preaching is a separate thing.

***one researcher’s conclusion after he dug into the letters of the new covenant: he said the first letter to the Corinthians was to correct their very bad behavior. So like the statement for women to keep quiet in church might have meant that there was domination or chaos at that local body. We must read the letters as they were intended by the author and not in our own jaded lens or of the lens of today or of the lens of our particular denomination. I read Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola and George Barna.***

Only elders are specified as men among a few other rules.

And the biggest issue i have is that none of the gifts including preaching and teaching are authority positions. There is no authority in preaching or teaching. It is done by the leading of the holy spirit to educate the body of christ and to equip them to share the gospel with the world. Your pastor that stands in front of you each sunday is not your leader. It was never this way with the first century christians and was never intended to be. The one person who stands and preaches (and often teaches instead of preaches) is from the Catholic church’s idea of a priest, and in turn is from the way pagan priests lead their followers. This crap started with Constantine who claimed to be saved and gave the christians places to worship in his government buildings. This lead to them not having gatherings in the home as was done from the beginning of the church. So the catholic church was born out of these examples even though they deny it. Further the idea that a preacher has authority over the “flock” is not found in scripture.

The term shepherd is one who protects as Jesus did by dying for us. So anyone who wants to be a shepherd should be in protection mode not authority mode. Also servanthood mode as Jesus’ example. Yes Jesus has authority but humans do not have authority over each other within the church. The exception is a parent over a child. Side note: the idea of a covering is completely made up. A pastor/preacher is not the covering for the local church. He has no authority.

The other issue one person had a problem with is the term slave. But Paul said we were slaves to sin and now we can be slaves to christ. This is not literal but a metaphor describing our voluntary submission to our Lord, the only one who deserves it. Ivar also mentioned a husband and wife be slaves to one another. This comes from the scripture about being submissive to one another. Slave and submission are different but again this is similar to a metaphore meaning to be in voluntary service to your spouse.

After all that, scripture does not say in any way that a preacher has to be a man. It says the gifts of the spirit are for the body of Christ and we each have our own. Men and women make up the body. So men and women can preach, teach, prophesy, speak in tounges, evangelize, have a word of wisdom, encourage, serve, give, have a word of instruction or revelation, and so on.

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and EACH MEMBER BELONGS to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:3-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God. Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:26-30‬ ‭NIV‬‬
