Damascus is increasingly turning on the Assad regime.
Recently, security forces opened fire in the center of the capital to disperse a small gathering of peaceful demonstrators just a few hundred meters from parliament.
The mood has markedly shifted away from the regime over the last couple of months. The decision by Damascene merchants to go on an unprecedented strike in response to the Houla killings marked an important escalation of local defiance.
Many Damascus suburbs fall under effective rebel control at night. Anti-regime protests are spreading to districts like Midan and Kafr Sousa, just minutes from downtown Damascus.

The secular Basher Al Assad regime might facing its final days. The next regime will bring Jihad to the borders of Syria.
The so-called uprising in Syria started in the Mosques. People came out in the streets calling Basher a coward, who do not want the Syrians to run into Israel over the Golan Heights.
For Israel, the fall of the Basher regime will only give a brief relief. The borders with Lebanon and Gaza is already hot. The Muslim Brotherhood take over of Egypt, is again making Sinai a base for terrorists. The day Damascus fall, the north eastern borders of Israel will again become a battlefield.
The final global army will come from the the north. Probably over the Golan, and towards the fields of Armageddon. The final army will have one thing in common. The general will have no clue about what they are doing. Simply because they have rejected the Bible, and have no fear of God.
Inside Israel they will face an iron fist. The final battle that stand in Zion, will display the morality of sinful man in all its ugliness.
For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After he has honored me and has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.
This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
Jesus the Messiah is the servant of God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. He will fulfill these unpleasant prophecies. Unpleasant for all the enemies of the truth.
