A parish priest in the town of Rovereto di Novi was killed trying to save a Madonna statue.

Tuesday’s quake killed at least 16 people and injured 350 just nine days after a similar disaster killed six people and left thousands homeless.
Among the quake victims was a parish priest in the town of Rovereto di Novi who was killed by a falling beam after he went back into his church to save a Madonna statue.

My comment:
We regret loss of lives in the latest earthquake in Italy.
May all who suffer now turn from their idols towards Jesus, and let Him comfort them. They must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
The priest who died trying to “save” the local madonna, is worth come reflections.
Acts 17:24
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
Since God do not longer live in buildings built by men, no doubt He permits churches and cathedrals to be reduced to rubble.
But why did the priest try to rescue a piece of stone and wood?
A statue that is mute. An idol can not listen, and absolutely not save it self. After this disaster in Italy, may by some Roman Catholics will be willing to listen?
Jesus is very blunt towards this kind of religious people:
Let the dead go and bury their own dead.
Leave this kind of dead religion alone, and start to obey and follow the living God. Jesus is alive!
