I suspect we will be here for the conflict of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38. But I have always believed we would be spared going through the Tribulation for a lot of reasons. The rapture of the Church and the 2nd Coming of Christ are described quite differently. At the Rapture, the Lord meets His people in the air and returns to His Father’s House with His Bride. He comes to gather, unite and bless His Bride and take them to the Heavenly Kingdom. This appears to happen before the Tribulation.
In contrast, at His 2nd Coming, His feet touch the Mount of Olives. He comes to begin the process of judgment and remove unbelievers. He also comes to establish an earthly Millennial Kingdom for those believers who remain upon the earth in their mortal bodies. This happens after the Tribulation.
This is what I think will happen, but we must be prepared to follow our Lord no matter what. He will protect us from the time of trial. Revelation 3:10 and Luke 21:36.

is different from Revelation 20,

From what I have been able to determine, “Gog and Magog” is simply a “generic” way of referring to a an extremely evil individual who hates Israel and is leading an army of wicked, hate-filled, warriors (perhaps even demonized warriors) against it. Since the two Gogs and Magogs are separated from each other by at least 1000 years, it is doubtful that the same people are being referred to except for what they are—God’s enemies. Seen in this way, “Gog” and “Magog” would be types—similar to the reference, in Daniel 10, to the “Prince of Persia” or Isaiah’s discussion of an evil (antichrist) “King of Babylon” in Isaiah 14.
In Ezekiel 38:11 Gog, tells himself that Israel is vulnerable and that he will “march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence!” Sounds like it really isn’t for any other reason than to satisfy his hatred and the fact that Israel appears to be vulnerable to his plans. Of course, Satan is behind those plans.

It looks like Psalm 83 is being fulfilled as we speak. Next up is the destruction of Damascus (Is. 17) which is imminent. The Gog-Magog invasion (Ez. 38) does not include Syria as a participant, so it is said that the reason why is because it has ceased to be a city and is no more.
I’m not sure of the exact timing of Ez. 38-39, but I believe it is toward the end of the trib. The Bride will be long gone before this invasion starts.

You may be right. I had always assumed that the Ezekiel 38 conflict would occur before the Tribulation, but it may, in fact be a part of the first half of the Tribulation.

I know this was for Ellen, but I would like to contribute.
There are two mainstream spiritual movements that are heading for a head on collision. One that points towards Jesus, and one who points towards “god”.
One will be the “big brother” with billions of followers. The other a small minority, that refuse to bow.
The small minority is based on Messianic Judaism and Christian Zionism. Judaism is not a false religion, but an incomplete religion. Elohim Israel is plural. The whole Hebrew Bible points to the coming of Yeshua (Jesus), and the New Testament confirms who the Messiah is. God of Israel have told us that the truth is found in the truth. The Son.
The second movement is about ISA (Jesus of the Koran). He is giving the radical opposite message. He tells the World to united around “god”. This god is for all Muslims “allah”. You can attend meetings in mainstream Churches, even Charismatic Churches, where the name of Yeshua (Jesus) is not even mentioned. Now it is all about god”. People pray to “god”, and many do not even end their prayers with the signature of Jesus.
What is the conclusion?
Islam will surely decline, because the purpose of Islam is about to end. Because the World has finally agreed to the fight Elohim and everything Jewish. Everything will be permissible in the One World Religion, but absolutely not Messianic Judaism. We are told by pastors and priests to forget everything Jewish, the Torah and all Jewish festivals. Their “god” do not want all of this. It must be renounced and forgotten.
Zionism will be the last common enemy, that must be evicted from Jerusalem so that the abomination that causes desolation can be set up.
I think that the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 conflicts will only have much affect on the Middle Eastern and N. African portions of Islam. But, since these are the wealthiest portions (due to oil revenues) it will certainly have a dampening effect on the enemies of Israel in those areas (who are now Israel’s most vocal opponents). I believe that this will enable the Antichrist to pursue his goal of making the peace covenant with the newly more powerful Israel (which is likely to include the building of a new Temple). But he will be seeking to come into more and more control of the Holy Land. The One World Religion will likely be very much a part of the instrumentation that he will use. And the Vatican, along with other leaders in the five major religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism) will facilitate Antichrist’s plans to unite them. The Vatican, because of its wealth, political expertise and centralized power structure will win the most prominent position among the religions. The Pope (at that time) will become the False Prophet.
I think there have already been a plethora of antichrists (and, as far as that goes, there has always been false “Christianity”) But I do believe that events and Antichrist’s evil henchmen are now achieving a “critical mass” that will propel the Antichrist forward onto the world stage. He will appear to be Israel’s friend—at first. He may even masquerade as a Zionist. He will likely insist that the Temple should be built and use his influence and money to support the project. But he will secretly be plotting to destroy the Chosen People. Antichrist and his Satanic forces will actually desire the building of the Temple.
Without the Temple, his plan of controlling the world from his “throne” in the Temple, cannot go forward. That is the Anti-Messiah’s plan—to put absolute tyranny in place. And he will appear to be succeeding for a short period of time.
But the Lord God Almighty and His Messiah Yeshua have other plans. God has already said in His word that the death of the wicked gives Him no pleasure, but He allows humankind its
freedom. He will take the innocents and those who have been declared innocent by the Blood of the Lamb to Himself.

Much as I disapprove of any attacks on any Nation including/especially Israel, for the most part the Israeli regime and very many living in Israel claiming to be jewish, appear to be the architects of their own downfall.
