Ministerial Committee on Immigrat Absorption makes decision in principle to bring to Jewish state northeastern Indian community claiming descent from one of Lost Tribes of Israel.
The Ministerial Committee on Immigrant Absorption, led by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, reached a historic decision in principle several days ago: To bring to Israel the 7,300 members of Bnei Menashe – a northeastern Indian community claiming decent from one of the Lost Tribes of Israel.
The committee decided to appoint an inter-ministerial team of director-generals to prepare an operative plan of action to bring all Bnei Menashe to Israel. The plan will be brought to the government’s approval next month.
Some 1,700 Bnei Menashe have already made aliyah, but the process was halted in 2007. Foreign Minister Lieberman and Immigrant Absorption Minister Sofa Landver have now decided to undo the historical injustice suffered by the Bnei Menashe community and bring all of its members to Israel.
“This is clearly a Zionist issue,” Lieberman told the Yedioth Ahronoth daily on Sunday. “Even those of Bnei Menashe who have already immigrated have proved to be Jews and Zionists for all intents and purposes.

No. Israel was occupied by the Roman empire at this time. Not an independent nation. The Bible speaks about a regathering, and rebuilding of a desolate land. Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria was not a ruined and desolate place in year 1. Look at Israel in 1900 A.D. After hundreds of years of Ottoman neglect, the land was just as he prophetic word explained. What you have said is true about Rabbi Eckstein. I agree. He does not know Jesus. He has no concern for the Jews salvation, which is really the most important thing even more than returning to Israel land. What good will that be if they do not trust in Jesus and be saved. Ivar is correct that our biggest prayer for these that are returning is that they embrace Jesus. Will be difficult though in a land that does not teach or emprace the gospel. At least not at this time

When the full numbers of the gentiles have come into the Kingdom, then Israel shall be saved. Neither by human wisdom, nor by religious pressure. Few secular Israeli’s I have met, have rejected the possibility that Jesus is the Messiah. So just keep on telling the truth, and pray for them. Let Jesus fix the rest. Only He saves.

I have seen Rabbi Eckstein in a lot of commercials on TV asking for money. I wondered if the Rabbi was a follower of Jesus or just trying to get money out of the very generous Americans wanting to bless Israel. I can understand Gloria J’s concern. Many people exploit the generosity of Christians to fulfill physical needs only (and the Lord will bless them for that-because those giving have pure intentions) but the name of Jesus will not be given to these poor people.
