Hacker group claims to have published former British prime minister’s address book.
Ever wanted to give British Member of Parliament Dennis MacShane a buzz? Maybe a prank call, even? What about Lord and Lady Irvine?
That may now be possible, as the their contact information has apparently been published online by a hacker group, along with various other personal contacts in former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s address book.
The Telegraph reports that a group calling itself Team Poison claims to have gained access to Blair’s webmail server.
“The information in this article was obtained in 2010 December,” reads a statement at the top of a document posted to text website Pastebin.com.
“We still have access to the webmail server, phone numbers may have changed but all the information is 100% [sic] legit.”
Team Poison apparently targeted Blair for his role in pushing Britain’s participation in the Iraq War. Late Friday night, the group began tweeting the published information, which included the former prime minister’s National Insurance Number (similar to a Social Security number in the United States).
“Tony Blair is a war criminal, he should be locked up,” read one tweet.
ID theft and hacking has become the fastest rising crime in the World.
That a high profile International leader like Tony Blair have been looted for his private data, might be a warning to us all.
Satan is the source behind all kinds of theft.
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Since all people now have become publishers on various social media, be carful what you put on the net. It is easy for cyber criminals to loot your cyber accounts. Keep sensitive information off-line.
