Japan: 48 hours to stop a nuclear disaster

Quake-hit Fukushima One plant

ENGINEERS were last night locked in a desperate race against time to spare Japan from a horrific nuclear disaster.

The fate of millions lay in the hands of workers who have 48 hours to prevent a deadly meltdown at a quake-hit Fukushima One plant.

If they fail, there could be a Chernobyl-style radiation leak that will kill people within days and leave others at risk of cancers and childbirth defects for decades to come.

Two nuclear fuel rods have been exposed at the power station and there was a massive blast at another reactor.

Experts claim that unless engineers can cool the rods, they will melt in around 48 hours and burn through the heavy casing of the containment building they are housed in.

A predicted change in wind direction today could leave Tokyo residents in any leak’s line of fire.

Nuclear expert Professor John Gittus, who helped with the aftermath of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine, warned the chances of a meltdown were “one in 10”.

He said: “Within a day or two we should find out that things are all right. That is my forecast.

“But there is a chance we shall find ourselves on the way to a core melt.” Prof Gittus, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, added: “What happened in Chernobyl is happening in Japan.

My Comments

Jesus said in the end days there will be horrible times. Our Savior has proven once again, that his words will forever ring true.

2 Timothy 3:1

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.

And it is not only Japan that is suffering from the perplexity that has gripped the Earth. Droughts, Famine, Earthquake, Mankind heeding to doctrines taught by the devil, and the love of many growing cold are just some of the signs.

The time signs depicted in the Bible should cause the people of this world to look to our Savior. And yet, still many refuse to even acknowledge him. Still, Our King is near, and if you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Savior there is little time.

Luke 21:32-36

32 “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

  1. It’s very hard for people right now to even know who to believe concerning this situation. There are so many conflicting reports, with some experts saying the danger is nothing like that of the 1986 disaster in Chernobyl because the engineering designs are much better and the reactors are enclosed in a protective casing. Others are saying the danger is grave. My heart tells me that the second is true. I think that those trying to downplay the danger are trying only to prevent mass panic. My heart goes out to the people of Japan, as I believe that worse is yet to come for them.

There was an article on FOX news site today on people of the U.S. buying out supplies of sodium iodide capsules due to panic. They were actually crying on the phone with sales reps when told that the supplies had run out. My background is in biology and nuclear medicine, so I know a good deal about radioactive materials. I sit on the board of a disaster team for a nuclear power plant for the state in which I reside. I can tell you that the danger is grave, as some of the radioactive isotopes that are possible to be released from a nuclear reactor have a very long half life. One in particular, has a 29 year half life, and is destructive to bone marrow and formation of red blood cells. My hope is that they’ll get this under control, I am unsure at this point. I’m praying to GOD that they will.

Of one thing, I’m sure… His will we be done, whether we understand it or not. I am absolutely positive that much worse is to come, the only way to explain this is that I have literally felt it for a while a now. I knew in the middle of the night, before I turned on the news on Friday morning…. that something was terribly wrong. The LORD woke me up, and I was going around the house checking things. I had a feeling before I went to bed that night that much worse was to come.. I didn’t know what or how much worse though. I’m not claiming to be psychic, GOD has just opened my eyes, and instilled me with a keen sense of things to come. No, I’m not psychic… I just lean on Him for understanding, and He’s guiding me.

I’m ready, and awaiting my LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

    Peace and Love to all!

    1. Hey Missy,

I do agree that Japan is in a state of panic right now, evenmore so because of these nuclear reactors.

But the point that most people miss in their state of panic, is to look to Jesus Christ, Our Savior.

Your said: I’m not claiming to be psychic, GOD has just opened my eyes, and instilled me with a keen sense of things to come. No, I’m not psychic… I just lean on Him for understanding, and He’s guiding me.

My Comment: Acts 2:17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

I am nothing without My King, but Jesus has allowed me to see things that others cannot (All Glory goes to him always.) For the past 6 months, there has been a stirring inside of me. Jesus is truly near, and I await his calling at any moment.

      God Bless you.

  2. Missy and Gloria.

I also have this strong sense this is only the beginning of the wrath about to be poured out. I used to be terrified over things like this. After I was saved I was delivered from the fear.
I feel when I see these events unfold I am reading The Book.

    1. It is true Sue. My heart breaks for the people that have died, and have not accepted Jesus Christ.

Now is the time for the unbelievers to believe in Him (Jesus Christ) who died for our sins and is coming soon.

      God Bless you Sue 🙂
