The floods in Australia, the prolonged snowstorms in Europe and the United States, and the potential drought in China, have all contributed to the rise in world food prices. Back in Sri Lanka the flooding in the Central and North Eastern parts of the country have also greatly diminished the local food supplies.
In Australia, floods in the Gold Coast and parts of Victoria have scene wide-scale destruction to farming land. Speaking to Jack Robertson, a student at the University of Sydney, The Sunday Leader learnt of the rising food prices and growing food shortage that is affecting the country. “The cost of many essential items have risen greatly in price, the government is doing all that it can but the cost of wheat products has shot through the roof. We are also seeing shortages of products previously considered an everyday item. Bananas have disappeared from many of the smaller grocery stores; this is because of the heavy flooding that hit Brisbane.”
The cost of rebuilding the flood that destroyed the North of the country has also taken its toll on the food economy. Economists have predicted that the large cost of rebuilding Queensland will eventually take a toll on the food budget.
In China, a severe winter drought has threatened the crop production levels; China is the world’s largest provider of wheat.

My Comment:
The last chapter in the Bible tells of a time coming very soon in where the whole World will experience a time of tribulation never to be seen again, according the Lord. It will bring God’s judgments against this sinful world.
As a Christian and a reader of the Word of God, food shortages, bees dying/missing, food damaged by weather conditions and the hiking of prices does not come as a surprise to me. For Jesus told us that these things will happen.
Revelation 6:6
Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
The anti-christ will soon give people a choice (those that are left behind from the rapture): take the mark of the beast and be able to purchase, or die for Jesus Christ. Those will be the only two options.
Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Gloria I dont think the general public has any idea how bad food shortages could be this summer. Sadly I think many people will starve and die.
Richard,
The poorest countries will be the hardest hit. But those that are here for the anti-christ will have a choice: take his mark, and/or basically die-including starvation. But to die for Jesus Christ is an awesome thing, because then it means you will be in the Kingdom of Heaven with our King.
God Bless,
Gloria
Many people may starve and die. While I would be concerned about food and water I would make sure of having a Bible to remind me of words like these and to be in the Spirit so He can lead me and show me what to do. Maybe something like this.
1Ki 17:2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
1Ki 17:3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
1Ki 17:4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
1Ki 17:5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
1Ki 17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
1Ki 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
1Ki 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
1Ki 17:9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
Or this,
1Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
1Ki 19:3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
1Ki 19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
1Ki 19:6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
1Ki 19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
1Ki 19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
I don’t doubt that there may be things like this happening to the saints.

Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
End of scriptures.
I once saw on CNN, the testimony of a young girl in Cambodia. People were dying like flies around her. About a million or so, died within a short span of time. She was the only Christian she knew in the whole area. Her parents had perished. There was no food in the village, but she was feed by all strange and “impossible events”. Where no one could find food, Jesus fed her. Just like the birds.
A Christian girl i know, one week back gave us the following story. She had no rice in her house, and no money. She went down on her knees, and prayed to Jesus. Than she walked into the street, praying. A person walked up to her, and be not surprised: That person offered her rice, without she asking for it.
Hello ivarfjeld,
Shalom
Exactly. That’s our God, the same yesterday, today and forever.
Gen 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD?…
Thanks for sharing that.
Dear Dave 1543.
Shalom.
There are many who say “Nothing is impossible for God”. I say: You are wrong”. God can not lie. It is simply impossible for Him to lie. And He can not, avoid keeping his promises. They are eternal. If you do not have food, and you pray to Jesus, He will feed you.
Shalom ivarfjeld,
It’s good that Christians talk and encourage each other.
