Israeli prime minister fears end of peace with Egypt

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, center, arrives for a meeting with European Parliament members.

JERUSALEM – Israel’s prime minister is warning that peace treaties can be canceled, hinting at his concern over the turmoil in Egypt over anti-government protests.

Benjamin Netanyahu said peace is not necessarily permanent. He said, “It can be unraveled from without; it can be unraveled from within.”

He did not mention Egypt by name in a speech Monday before European Parliament members, but he has expressed concern about a takeover by Islamic radicals who might cancel the Israel-Egypt peace treaty signed in 1979.

Also, Netanyahu warned that the greatest danger to world peace is radical Islamists getting nuclear weapons, or a nuclear power going Islamist.

He said, “The first is called Iran, the second is called Pakistan.”

My Comment:

Israel will not know true peace, until Our King Jesus Christ returns.

If the nations surrounding Israel speak of peace, it is a false one. For within their hearts, many want to see the demise of Israel.

The Holy Word of God speaks of a false peace between the anti-christ and Israel. But this will be temporary, and when our King Jesus Christ arrives; judgment will come.

Daniel 8:23-27

And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24: And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25: And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. 26: And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. 27: And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
