Jordan’s King Abdullah II met with the Muslim Brotherhood for the first time in nearly a decade.

King Abdullah II suddenly consider The Muslim Brotherhood as a political partner.

“It is important for them to work together to press political reform that will increase the role of citizens in decision making,” according to a statement from the royal court.

The Muslim Brotherhood is estimated to have the support of 25 to 30 per cent of Jordan’s six million people. Abdullah, 49, has been paying surprise visits in recent days to poor areas and villages and ordering assistance to the families he has encountered.

My comment:

King Abdullah knows the day will come when the US will not be able to safeguard his grip on power.

It is not the Muslim Brotherhood that needs him. It is King Abdullah who needs them, so they will not cut of his fragile political head.

With Obama in the White House, Abdullah has finally got the clearance to “talk” to the brotherhood. Just like the Mubarak-regime suddenly inviting them for talks over a good dinner. Its like Obama said in his Cairo speech: “Islam is a great religion of peace”.

Soon the Middle East will be ready for another round of Israel-bashing, followed by US backed “peace talk”. Finally Israel will give in to what is a deception, and fundamentally wrong, in a bid to get peace.
