The Obama administration believes that Washington’s fingerprints shouldn’t be seen anywhere near what they increasing expect will be the end of Mubarak’s rule.
The Obama team has not told Mubarak either publicly or privately that he must step down, but has been constantly and consistently giving the embattled Egyptian leader direct and honest messages about what the U.S. expects.
“Transition” apparently is the new message word for the administration, allowing them to position themselves on the side of the protesters without throwing Mubarak completely under the bus.
“The White House’s position has improved on the issue but they’re ducking the difficult question about whether they have to say anything publicly or privately about whether Mubarak needs to go,” said Mechele Dunne of the Carnegie Endowment.
“What we were trying to tell them is that change is coming, the status quo is passing away, and the question is do we want to shape that change constructively or not,” Dunne said. “For a long time, a lot of people have felt that question was just too hard.”

The US has propped up dictators in third world countries for generations. At first it was part of a strategy for fighting the Cold War, but it was also part of a strategy for “managing” the world, keeping things stable politically and socially so that things would stay stable economically and the flow of goods and services (especially oil) would be smooth and the high quality of life enjoyed by the people in North America and Western Europe could be maintained.
The downfall of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt will be only the beginning of the end of this system, which was never going to last forever. As systems for global management go, this one has actually had a very short life. The Romans, who managed the world for almost 400 years by using a similar system, would certainly not be impressed.
But the collapse of the Pax Americana will not lead to an outbreak of freedom and democracy in the world, nor will it lead to a new Dark Age. It will probably lead to a short period of global chaos and anarchy which will cause people to cry out for a strong leader to emerge who will restore order, repair the economy and end the chaos.
The same thing that happened in Germany in 1933, when the people followed Adolf Hitler because their situation was desperate and he offered them a way out, is about to happen on a global scale.
Revelation 6:2 says;
I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
This is a prophecy about this man, the final Anti-Christ, who will offer the world a way out of the chaos and anarchy that you can see the first rumblings of in Egypt today. Pray that you and your loved ones will not be deceived by this man, who will lead the world not into a future of hope and glory, but into a war against the God of the Universe which will end with death and devastation much more massive and horrific than the war that Adolf Hitler led the world into in 1939.
