“This was murder. My brother had blood oozing out of his mouth, hands and legs tied in an unnatural way and his clothes were torn,” said Dushashan Pradhan.
He is the brother of Pentecostal Pastor Saul Pradhan, 45 years old, who found dead on January 11 in the village of Pakala, in Kandhamal district, Orissa. The region has been the scene of repeated attacks on Christians by Hindu extremists since the anti-Christian massacres of Christmas 2008.
The pastor was found dead following still unresolved circumstances. Police have ruled that his death was accidental and caused by freezing. The official story is yet to be confirmed by an autopsy. Meanwhile, even before the results come back, two activists from a radical Hindu group, who were the last to be seen in the company of the pastor, were nevertheless arrested .
The pastor’s family categorically denies the explanation released by Indian authorities. Nimata, the wife of the pastor, in great pain, said “He was killed because he wanted to reconcile Christians and Hindus in the village. He tried to do so until the end, even reaching out to those who had set fire to the houses of Christians.””
Father Manoj Kuma Nayak, a Catholic priest involved in the rehabilitation of victims following the attacks, after having visited the village in question in recent days, notes with worry that “violence could explode again in the district if the authorities do not stop the hate campaign.”
Even Bipra Charan Nayak, representative of the Association of Survivors of Kandhamal, believes that the pastor was killed by Hindu radicals who “are putting in place a systematic plan to eliminate Christian leaders, labeling these murders as accidents.” The leader launches the alarm and urges the authorities to provide adequate protection to Christian leaders.

The amount of persecuted Christians resulting in death seems to be exploding at a rapid pace. I am sure there are plenty that do not ever get reported. Pentecostal Pastor Saul Pradhan was murdered for preaching to the Hindus, and everyone alike of Jesus Christ.
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.’
Jesus Christ tells us in John 15 verses 18-20 that he chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. The bible also tell us that the “god” of this world is Satan, and scripture says he is a murderer and the father of all lies.
As a Christian, we must live a life in accordance to God’s Word and be ready to meet our Savior at any minute.
