Afghan Christians faces death believing in Jesus Christ

Caption: Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

A Christian in Afghanistan is facing punishment as severe as the death penalty, or 20 years in prison, if he doesn’t choose to convert back to Islam. The verdict is expected this week.

Shoaib Assadullah was imprisoned October 21 for giving a Bible to a man who later reported him to the authorities. He has received no legal representation, and International Concern Aiden Clay, says a judge handed down the latest sentence in late December.

ICC sources closely following the case says that a court hearing on December 28, Assadullah was told to recant his Christianity, or he will face a hanging or be killed for his faith. Shoaib stated he has given his life completely into the hands of Jesus. He said he was happy for the spiritual fight, saying, “Without my faith, I would not be able to live.”

Afghanistan is a signatory of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. According to Article 18, ‘Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

My Comment:

Shoaib Assadullah gave the right response when he said: he has given his life completely into the hands of Jesus. He said he was happy for the spiritual fight, saying, “Without my faith, I would not be able to live.”

Persecution is going on in places like: India, Egypt, Sudan, and countless other countries. As a Believer In Christ, it is important for us to be ready at all times for Our Lord Jesus Christ.

To watch a family member, friend, die hurt’s the heart. We’ve all experienced it, but believers in Christ must stand firm in the truth, for the bible tells us for the persecuted: their reward is great in heaven. And those that Truly repent, accept Jesus Christ as their Savior on their death bed are saved. For Jesus Christ knows all of our hearts.

Matthew 5 verses 10-12:

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

There are many “claimed to be Christians” who would rather renounce Christ, then die for Our King.

Matthew 10:28:

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

There are lots of verses in the Holy Bible that speak of hell. But Jesus Christ says: Whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Romans 10 verses 9:1:

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

That Afghanistan signed the UDHR and then turned hypocritical is not surprising. Iran has also signed it, along with Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, and the list goes on. All of them are more than just hypocrites.

Job 13:16:

He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

Pray for Shoaib Assadullah, and all persecuted Christians.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

God Bless.

  1. This man is my hero along with all those whom stand for Christ in the places where believing in the true God and creator brings death, in my country England in the days of our roman Catholic bondage men were burned at the steak for simply reading a bible in English let alone believing in Christ alone, those days are swiftly coming upon my land again as we approach the end of the age and the gospel becomes offensive to the politically correct diversity equal opportunity anything goes agenda, anything goes of course barring the fact we believe in Jesus alone and a holy life according to His word.May this man stand firm with a strong back as a good soldier of Christ Jesus, may the Lord sustain him so that He is not denied but rather confessed before men, May His church be built and encouraged in the dry deserts of this land, they are precious people and an example to us comfy western lot.

  2. Matthew 5 verses 10-12:

We need to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ. There are many who die for the faith that we don’t even read about. But I wonder how many American Christians would be willing to die for the faith. We, as American Christians have been spoiled and have gotten lazy. We think we are persecuted just because we can’t pray in school or when people call us names as we witness to them. We don’t know what real persecution is. But the time may be coming when we will find out. How many of us are ready?

The Lord may soon be separating the wheat from the chaff here in the United States. It’s time to dig deep into the Word of God and pray the the Lord comes and takes us home soon.
