The German TV-evangelist claims Jesus will jump out of my TV Screen.
I saw the German TV-evangelist on God.tv on 30.12.10. He was promoting his ‘Full Flames” series. I have always been puzzled with Bonnke’s faith in a gross end time revival, that will bring the continent of Africa into faith in Jesus Christ.
Lets read the quote from the magazine Christianity Today:
A vision for African missions haunted Bonnke from an early age. “Night after night I saw the entire African continent, washed in the blood of Jesus, country after country,” says Bonnke, son of a German Pentecostal preacher.
Source: Christianity Today.
But is this a true vision from Jesus the Messiah?
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Bonnke speaks about “country” after “country”. Where does He have Biblical support for being a prophet of Africa’s national salvation?
Bonnke might be a self proclaimed prophet of his own imagination. Because the last days will be known for massive deception, and a revival around the coming of the last anti-Messiah, a lawless man.
That Bonnke asks his listeners to fill up response cards, is well and good. He claims to have collected such cards in hundreds of thousands.
I do not ask for such written response. I ask people who wants to accept Jesus as Master, if they would like to read the Bible. A positive response to such a request is a good sign. If they still read the Bible after a month, and have joined a Christian fellowship, it is a pretty good sign of a genuine born again experience.
The problem with TV-evangelists, is that many claimed to be conversions can not be verified 4 weeks after the preacher has left the stage. Many Christian fellowships in the neighborhood never saw a single soul from this claimed to be “revival”. Few new Churches have been formed, hardly any Bibles have been distributed.
And if hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Nigeria return to their Mosques and their Korans after being “saved” at the stage of Reinhard Bonnke, He is at best populating the One World religion. That is a dangerous deception.
This is something we all need to reflect on.
Another matter of concern, is an article from 1999, reporting that 14 people died in a stampede in Nigeria, people rushing to the stage of Reinhard Bonnke to receive healing.
The source of this information is well known Washington Post.
Has the German evangelist ever repented for causing the death of such innocent people?
Yesterday, I heard Bonnke telling me that “Jesus Christ will jump out of the TV Screen, and touch me”.
Since Bonnke has given strange statements like this in the earlier days of his ministry, I took extra notice of this latest promotion stunt on God.tv.

Since the Bible explains that God do not live in made man temples, I do not believe that Jesus has taken refuge inside any electronic box in my living room.
But that Jesus can touch people in all kinds of situations, that I know for sure.
My concern for Reinhard Bonnke is genuine. He preach the cross, even though he does not tell Muslims in Nigeria that Muhammad is a false prophet. May be He should do that. At least write it on the response cards. If a Muslim now sign the card, I feel He is willing to leave the false religion of Islam.
I hope and pray that Bonnke has not been deceived in our last and very challenging days.
Let me underline, that God.tv is not on the list of my favorite TV stations. Bonnke is an evangelist with a global audience, and we need to lift him up in prayer.
Having a passed One million viewed blog, I also need to be corrected in love. Please tell Bonnke that I wrote this article about the ministry He leads.
