Borders of England, France and Belgium closed for Israeli leaders

Ehud Barak canceled his trip to Paris. Tzipi Livni returned from London. Now 13 Israeli leaders are wanted for “war crimes” in Belgium.

Ehud Barak, Zipi Livni and Ehud Olmert run the risk of being arrested if they travel to certain airports in Europe.

A complaint was filed in Belgian court against 14 Israeli leaders for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak were among those charged with war crimes committed during the Gaza war in the winter of 2008-09, the French daily Le Monde reported.

Former Gen. Matan Vilnai and other Israeli army leaders, politicians and intelligence officials also were included on the list.

Two lawyers representing 13 family members of victims of an Israeli army bombing of a mosque near the Jabaliya refugee camp during the war said they filed their complaints Wednesday in Brussels, according to reports.

A Belgian doctor with Palestinian roots also is among the complainants. He claims that Israeli forces destroyed his family’s olive fields.

Much of the 70-page complaint is based on the Goldstone report, according to the French news agency AFP. The report by a U.N. commission led by former South African justice Richard Goldstone accused Israel and Hamas of war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity.

My comment:

The World is again closing the door when the Jewish people need their help. There is nothing new in this.

All Jews were expelled from Catholic England  in 1290 A.D. Their expulsion lasted 350 years. In 1492, the Jews were told to leave Catholic Spain. In 1498, Catholic Portugal followed suit.

Protestant Europe was not much better then Catholic Europe. Norway banned Jews from entering the Kingdom in their first constitution. The anti-Jewish law was in effect from its foundation in 1814 to 1851.

In the run up to World War II, almost all Western European nations had closed their borders for Jews, trying to escape persecution in Nazi-Germany.

Since 1948, Israeli leaders has been banned from entering 22 Muslim nations. Egypt from 1979 and Jordan from 1994 are exceptions. Now the doors are closing also in post-Christian Europe.

The last one to leave sanity and morality, please switch off the light.

  1. Ivarfjeld,

Just found your site and its great! History will repeat itself Jews and and Christans being persecuted again and the world still does not see it! While I was in the US Navy I visited Israel many times and it was one of my favorite places to stop, always treated like family. From a righteous gentile just know that not everyone forgets and there are those who are on the right side and fight with you. Take Care.
