Only 3 of 10 Catholics believe Jesus will return by 2050

58 per cent of Evangelicals in the USA believe that Jesus is about to return. Only 38 percent of Catholics are convinced about the same.

Catholics seem to have more faith in the Pope, than in the scriptures.

This is according to a survey by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and Smithsonian Magazine.

41 per cent for the Americans expect Jesus’ second coming in the next 40 years, While 46 percent said it probably or definitely won’t happen.

The poll suggests that 58 percent of white evangelicals believe Jesus will return by 2050 compared to only 32 percent of Catholics, and respondents with no college education were three times as likely as those with college degrees to expect Christ’s Second Coming in the next 40 years

My comment:

I am not surprised that a minority of Catholics do not believe in a second coming of Jesus. They have been told by their priests, that the scriptures can only be understood by Vatican approved priests.

What is more disturbing, is that 4 out of 10 evangelicals do not believe in the scriptures, that tells about an unexpected return of Jesus.  The first Apostles believed in could take place during their walk on Earth.

What does the scriptures say about this matter:

First: Jesus promised to come back a second time:

John 14:28

“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I”.

John 14:1-3

1″Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Second:  Jesus promised t come back as a surprise:

Luke 12:40

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Third:

Jesus promised that the Kingdom would be restored to Israel:

Acts 1:6-9

So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

(end of scriptures)

The poor expectations of the return of Jesus, has two main reasons:

1. Christians do not read the Bible, or at least do not believe what they read.

2. Christians are listening to false teachers, who do not have a clue about the restoration of Israel as a sign of a sudden and unexpected return of our Master.

Bot of them points to an ongoing disaster within claimed to be “Christianity”.

  1. Catholics are told there is NO rapture, that the RCC has replaced the Jews as the chosen people and that we are living in the Kingdom on earth now through the rein of the Catholic Church. Of course they don’t think about His return. Catholic theologians also say that the book of Revelation is really all about the Catholic Mass…Any questions? 😉

  2. This is a really good read for me, Must admit that you are one of the best bloggers I ever saw. Thanks for posting this informative article.

    1. Dear Matt.

      Shalom.

Jesus has give us specific signs that will point towards his sudden return. So it is possible to open our eyes, and see.

      What are the signs.

      1. It will be like the days of Moses. Violence everywhere. Corrupt minds.
      2. It will be like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Sin is accepted, and blessed in our Churches. Like homosexual priests.
      3. The fig three will blossom. That is the desolate state of Israel, being restored and ruins rebuilt.
      4. There will be false Messiah’s everywhere. Just switch on your TV. You can now watch false teachers 24X7.
      5. The gospel would have reached the end of the Earth. That in happening as we speak. The Bible is available in all languages. No longer is there any excuse.

So, that is why we ask: Please, return Jesus. Let the final judgment come. Amen.

    2. Just came across this article…This article keeps stating that he’s coming back for a second time…but when you think about it has already been back for his second time…he came on this earth as a human(1st time)…he then died for our sins…and then came back(2nd time) so really this would be the third time he was to “come back”. So really to me this makes no sense he is up in heaven waiting on us to join him when its our turn!

      1. Mark 13:21-27

At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

‘But in those days, following that distress,

        the sun will be darkened,

        and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

“At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

  3. The Lord Talks to Israel (People of G-d)

    Isa 66:19-20

and I will set a sign among them (People of Isreal). And from them I will send survivors (saved disciples of Yashuah) to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands far away, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory among the nations. And they shall bring all your brothers (brothers of isreal who accepted Jesus) from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, on horses and in chariots and in litters and on mules and on dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.

  4. We Catholics do not believe in a “rapture.” We believe in the Second Coming of Christ, but….the Rapture is the teaching that believers will be whisked away before the Great Tribulation, and that Christ will come again seven years later (although there are other, similar variations on this theory). The doctrine of the Rapture is relatively new in Christian history. It was spread by John Nelson Darby and his followers in the mid-1800s; and, more recently, has gained popularity among Evangelical-type believers.
