In 1985 Saddam Hussein began the arduous task of restoring the ancient city of Bablyon. He spent over 500 million dollars to reconstruct the city and build a modern residence on the ruins of Nebuchadnezzar’s palace.
It is said that Saddam believed himself to be something of a reincarnated King Nebuchadnezzar. The Iraqi dictator imitated the ancient ruler by having his name inscribed on the bricks used to rebuild the city. He even went so far as to mint coins that emphasized the connection between himself and Nebuchadnezzar.
Unfortunately for Saddam, his grand plans for the city of Babylon were interrupted by the US invasion of Iraq. However despite Saddam’s removal from power and subsequent execution, the work to rebuild Babylon has continued.
Today the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is pumping millions of dollars into Babylon and several other historical sites in Iraq. With the help of private donors the UN is hoping to turn Babylon in to a thriving center of tourism and commerce. If everything goes according to plan, Babylon will be a cultural center complete with shopping malls, hotels, and maybe even a theme park.
A Destiny Unfulfilled Babylon was founded by the first world dictator, Nimrod. It is mentioned over 300 times in the Bible – and many of the prophecies concerning this fascinating city have yet to be fulfilled. The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah each spend two chapters detailing the catastrophic destruction that awaits this fabled city. The result of this final devastation will leave it uninhabitable; even the building materials will never be reused. This clearly has never happened in its history.
The US Air base at Babylon
The US has built a military base at the rebuild structures of ancient Babylon. If there ever will be a war between Iran and the US, the Iranian government will have to destroy this base, located next to the Iranian-Iraqi border. The Iranian President Amadinejad is a member of a Islamic Messianic cult who believes that they have to rebuild Babylon and destroy Israel, before the 12 Imam can return as the «Savior of the World».
This move by God of the Bible is genius, To protect Iran from a US plan to knock out its nuclear program, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be forced to bomb the US Air force Base at Babylon, and the Babylonian structure will go with it. Than Ahmadinejad will be the one, fulfilling the Biblical prophecy of Babylon´s final destruction. And when Ahmadinejad does so, he proves that the 12 Imam is a false Messiah. Because since, Babylon can not be rebuilt, He will never return.

A woman symbolizes a church. So a harlot would be a false church, which rides the beast. so it will be a global empire(the beast), controlled by a global church(Babylon), with every pagan religion on earth

Study the Bible with one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, they are huge on Bible prophecy and its fulfillment.
As a former Jehovah’s Witness, I can tell you that they no nothing about Bible Prophecy, all of their interpretations are wrong. And they have a false gospel. Yes–they are good people, but the ONLY salvation available to mankind, is by receiving Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, in FAITH! If anyone comes to your door with any other message or gospel, they are false teachers. Jesus Christ IS the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.
It appears that some do not know that Jehovah’s Witness accept Jesus as the means of salvation. I find it hard to believe that you were a “former” Jehovah’s Witness and still make that blatantly false statement.
Additionally this article is misleading as it says that Babylon was never destroyed . The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah foretold how Babylon would be destroyed and never inhabited again. Please take a look at pictures of what Babylon looks like now (ruins) with no one living.
Telling a person to read for themselves is important but also finding someone that knows what they are talking about is also important.
Hi Jaz,
I was born and raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, in a very “DEVOUT” family! I left when I was 35 years old, and can tell you–they do not have the Truth.
Christ Jesus IS “the” TRUTH—sadly, they do not teach the need to “come to Christ” for their salvation.
Theirs is a works-based salvation, preaching door to door and perfect meeting attendance, study of all of their new literature–all of these things are required of them as they are; “Working out their own salvation with fear and trembling.”
They believe “about” Christ–but not “IN” Christ–HUGE difference, which I came to understand when I became born again IN Christ.
They believe that Christ Jesus died for 144,000, who they believe are the “Bride class” and that they alone are “IN” Christ.
They do not think this applies to the 12 Tribes of Israel, because in their theology, they teach that Israel has been cast-off by Jehovah, and Jehovah’s Witnesses are now considered by God to be “Spiritual Israel”. They believe that all of the promises written in the Old Testament apply to THEM as Spiritual Israel–which is totally wrong.
They teach a replacement theology, but they do not call it that. They simply believe that God has cast them off for rejecting Christ–but interestingly, so do they!
They believe: Their 144,000, is a “class” that was closed in 1935, and they then established this “other hope” for the Great Crowd of “other” believers–the rank and file membership. These are not able to partake of the bread, and the wine which symbolizes the New Covenant in Christ’s blood. They pass the emblems without partaking–each person taking their turn in rejecting the opportunity to come into this New Covenant, because they fundamentally misunderstand who Christ Jesus is–the ONLY WAY of salvation.
The TRUTH is: Salvation is by God’s grace alone–through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone.
They believe in works–not grace. They misunderstand the very clear language of Rev 7:5-8, and have based their salvation doctrine upon their misunderstanding. Doctrines of man. Sadly–they then need to force the Bible’s language into their misconceptions.
They teach that ONLY the 144,000 are ‘Born again’ in Christ. That only the 144,000 can Claim to be “Christian” . That the New Testament was actually written to them, and they alone are guaranteed salvation through Christ and the New Covenant in his blood.
The Great Crowd is never assured of their salvation. They must remain in good standing with the Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society, be active in the preaching work (turning in their time slip every Sunday–complete with hours–literature placed, # of Bible Studies, # of Return Visits, etc). They must remain in close association with the remnant (little flock), and be FAITHFUL to the WTB&TS doctrines, without questioning.
They do not believe that Jesus was resurrected physically, but that Jesus body was dissolved into gases by Jehovah, and Jesus returned to heaven as a Spirit creature. They deny his bodily resurrection, completely.
Make no mistake, it is ONLY through becoming born again in Christ Jesus, believing upon him and receiving him alone as their Lord and Savior, that they will see the Kingdom of God that they preach so wholeheartedly.
And it is my prayer every single day–that they will do so!
-Laurie
Jehovah Witnesses believe that Jesus Christ was a perfect man, and that He is a person distinct from God the Father.
That is a blatant lie, and very misleading.
John 10:30 I and the Father are One.
There are many verses that prove that Jesus Christ is God. Jehovah Witness refuse to believe in the truth.
In regards to Babylon: I do not think the prophecy have yet passed, but will soon as Christ is very near.
Jeremiah 50:1-46 The word that the Lord spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet: “Declare among the nations and proclaim, set up a banner and proclaim, conceal it not, and say: ‘Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed. Her images are put to shame, her idols are dismayed.’ “For out of the north a nation has come up against her, which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away. “In those days and in that time, declares the Lord, the people of Israel and the people of Judah shall come together, weeping as they come, and they shall seek the Lord their God. They shall ask the way to Zion, with faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Come, let us join ourselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will never be forgotten.’ …
Revelation 18:1-24 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.” Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. …
You can’t choose some prophecies you like and ignore those you don’t. They have never accepted Jesus as the Messiah.. There are over 100 different prophecies Jesus fulfilled about the Messiah.
Dear Robert Miller.
Shalom and love in Jesus.
Yesterday, we had a debate at lunch, on the validity of the Bible. Who wrote it, and on the belalf of who? How can we know, for sure they all got inspired by the voice of God?
Yes. Look towards Jesus. The tesimonies about Him, fullfill all Messianic prophecies. And look towards Israel, and its re-birth in 1948. It has all be written down, thousands of years before the events took place. It can simply not be a fairitale. It is truth. And it is mind blowing and life changing. Amen.
Be careful with the Jehovah Witnesses it is a cult, they think Jesus was just a prophet or teacher, not the Son of God.
Jehovah Witness?? Umm..no. Do not study anything with someone who perverts the Word of God or the teachings of Christ. Read for yourself and find someone devoted to Christ to help you understand.
Two things and I won’t reply again as there seems to be strong feelings here about Jehovah’s Witnesses.
1. They believe that Jesus is the only means of salvation that humans have. Jesus expressed Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:6
This is in the Bible and this is taught by Jehovah’s Witnesses. They make a distinction between Jesus and Jehovah because Jesus did so himself acknowledging that the Father (Jehovah, YHWH, Yawah) was greater than he – John 14:28
Gloria references John 10:30 as proof that Jesus and Jehovah as the same person however reading the context of the remaining scriptures will shed light on the fact that Jesus was one with his father in the works Jesus was performing.
Quite frankly we can go around and around with this but the question to be asked is this: If there are scriptures that Jesus made the distinction between him and his father but there appear to be scriptures where they are saying they are the same which is the correct understanding?
We know the Bible does not contradict itself so there has to be an explanation.
For exjwlaurie you said you were a “devout” Jehovah’s Witness however were you ever baptized as one? As when you are you have to acknowledge the lifesaving role of Jesus Christ? You go on to talk about the 144,000 as having a salvation and a made up one for the “great crowd”. To me it seems as if you were raised around Jehovah’s Witnesses and did not like what you were learning even though it was from the Bible.
As for the Jews no longer being God’s chosen people I can only give you scriptures perhaps you should read it in your own copy of the Bible.
– Matt. 21:42, 43 (the Kingdom of God will be taken away from them)
– Matt. 23:37, 38 (Your house is abandoned to you, Jesus speaking of the Jews)
– Gal. 3:27-29 (By being baptized in the Christ there is no distinction between races or genders all be become the seed of Abraham)
2. exjwlaurie you say you do not believe that Babylon has been destroyed. But it isn’t about whether you believe or not but what the facts state also how is this prophecy related to other Biblical prophecies such as the one at Matt chapter 24, 2 Tim 3:1-5 which speaks about the last days.
I have studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and others for many years. I’ve looked into other religions including Islam and have found that Jehovah’s Witnesses do indeed have the truth. When I look at the many “churches” that are suppose to have the truth all I see is greed and hypocrisy.
While I do not believe that Jehovah’s Witnesses are perfect as no human is I know that they are being led by holy spirit everything I’ve been taught has been from the Bible and not out of just a single translation but multiple translations. I’ve not found any contradictions and I fully understand many Bible prophecy’s not in just the context of single scriptures but how they relate to other books of prophecy as well as the Bible overall.
They are the only religion that I’ve found that uses God’s name instead of trying to hide it. I am not confused about basic Bible truths. And they have a history of continuing to grow spiritually and adjusting beliefs after further Bible research and wanting to please Jehovah God and Jesus Christ the head of the Christian congregation.
They are the only religion that consistently follows Jesus clear direction in Matt. 28:19,20; stay out of politics; and love each other and people.
Instead of focusing on your Bias I think it best to actually speak with them and see if what they are saying is not true. Prove it from the Bible, they have their basic teachings online for all to see www.(no links permitted-editor). Get your Bible out and prove all of them wrong.
Jaz,
Your comment: Gloria references John 10:30 as proof that Jesus and Jehovah as the same person however reading the context of the remaining scriptures will shed light on the fact that Jesus was one with his father in the works Jesus was performing.
My comment: You are simply wrong. That you deny that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one is a dangerous thing. It means you don’t believe in God’s word, which is infallible and eternal.
Here are Bible verses to support Jesus is God.
Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 43:10,11 – “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.”
If you need more here it is:
John 8:24 – “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins.”
John 8:58 – Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
John 10:30-33 – Jesus answered them, “I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”
John 14:6-7 – Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:9-11 – Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”
Jaz, Jesus plainly states, that if you do not believe that I AM HE you will die in your sins.
It can’t get more serious than that.

Jw is one cult that twist the bible they have made some doctrines which is unbiblical, Claiming that only 144000 members of they church will be in heaven and the rest will be in earthly paradise this simple false teaching that has no basis in scriptures and you also claim that John the baptist will be in this earth how corrupt is your church teaching
Jaz,
First of all, since you asked—Yes, I was baptized when I was 11 years old, into their “spirit-directed organization”. I was devout and active in the preaching work; enrolled in the “School” since the age of 6. After 35 years I walked away—tired of their Scripture-twisting and contradictions—I simply could not believe they were “God’s mouthpiece” anymore, as they had taught. “God’s wifely Organization” was lying to me—and I could no longer ignore the evidence of it.
So your effort to try to minimize my previous affiliation with this organization, in order to negate my thorough understanding of their beliefs, falls short.
Since becoming born again in Christ—I have been re-baptized, not into a man-made religion, but through water immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; making my public confession of faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I admit that I do have strong feelings about Jehovah’s Witnesses, but not the way you think. I fear FOR them, because I love them so; I know they are still caught in a web of deceit–while I have been freed, through the blood of Christ. I so want for them to have what I have—in Christ!
Now that I am born again in Christ—I see so clearly the deception of this organization, and yes, they do believe “ABOUT” Jesus, as God’s Son—but they don’t believe “IN” Jesus, as their Lord and Savior.
They do not “KNOW” Christ Jesus because the Society teaches their followers, a “different gospel”. Theirs is a gospel of “works” for salvation, which is contrary to the Word of God. Paul warns us of being deceived by a “different gospel” in Galations 1:6-9, which you should read.
The gospel of “works” that the JW’s faithfully cling to, is “contrary” to the only true gospel, which was preached by Paul and the other apostles and sadly that is a gospel you will not learn as a Witness! The Witnesses’ doctrine of ‘works’, establishes that they completely miss the point!
You see Jaz–As Christians–We don’t ‘preach’ FOR our salvation—but BECAUSE of our salvation.
Our salvation is by FAITH—not works! The Bible clearly teaches us this:
“For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through FAITH—and this, not from yourselves, IT is the GIFT of God–NOT by works, so that no one can boast.” Eph 2:8-10
No—Not by WORKS—but by FAITH!
The Faith, which God gifts to us–to believe IN Christ ALONE for our redemption. Yes—as Christians we are to produce good works, but……
It is NOT in order to be SAVED—but because we are so grateful for what Christ Jesus has done for us—that as “saved” servants of Christ, we simply cannot help but to be a light for Him in this dark world! To share this “gospel of TRUTH and salvation” which we have received; with others!
It springs out of LOVE for our Savior; for what he has done for us—and out of LOVE for Jehovah, for drawing us to his Son, and enabling us to have FAITH in him (John 6:37,44,65).
It is out of LOVE for our fellow man, because we have received a FAITH that is life-saving, we want to share our testimony with any who will listen—so that they too—may hear the word of our FAITH in Christ Jesus, and may want what we have! That perhaps, others may believe the message and the testimony we offer, and perhaps seek God—though He is not far off from each one of us!
This “GIFT” is for everyone! Whosoever! This means YOU Jaz! Any religion that tells you something different—is LYING to you.
YOU can accept this free gift of God, this FAITH in Christ for your redemption, which comes from Jehovah—it will never come through works—not EVER! Only through faith IN Christ as YOUR Redeemer and YOUR Lord.
This is NOT the Witnesses’ message! They preach door-to-door; “working out their own salvation, with fear and trembling”. Their hope is that they may qualify through personal effort to be worthy of eternal life—but that is never guaranteed to them by the Society—because it is not theirs to offer! It comes ONLY through FAITH, in Christ alone.
The rank and file Witnesses are not in the New Covenant—nor do they seek to be IN the New Covenant of Grace; because they fundamentally misunderstand the means by which we are saved!
We are saved by God’s grace alone, through FAITH alone, in Christ alone!
How do the Witnesses demonstrate their lack of FAITH, or even simple belief IN Christ? Let’s take a glimpse of their Biblically-foreign habit of rejecting Christ….
For example: The Witnesses don’t partake of the bread and the wine, which represents the New Covenant of Grace. That Covenant for salvation is IN Christ Jesus’ blood. Yet–They reject it every year at their Memorial!
They gather to ‘Observe’ to Memorial, but not to participate! If they truly KNEW Christ—they could NEVER offend God this way. Let’s see what the Scriptures say….
“Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of Grace?….It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Heb 10:28-31
The Witnesses “pass up” the opportunity to be IN Covenant relationship with Jehovah, through Christ (“No one comes to the Father except through me”), when they “pass” on the bread and the wine, WITHOUT partaking of them!
That wine symbolizes the blood of Christ, poured out for your sins and mine.
Jesus IS “The Way” to the Father; he is the only “TRUTH”; he is “The Life” because without entering into the New Covenant—purchased with his blood, we have NO life. “The one who feeds on me will live because of ME”.
This New Covenant between God and man is IN Christ’s blood!
The Jews in Jesus’ day—as a Nation, rejected this New Covenant provided by Jehovah, which was accessed through Christ Jesus alone—preferring instead their Old Covenant, a Covenant of “works” as required by their Law.
So too—do the Jehovah’s Witnesses follow their example of rejecting Christ, committing the same sin: rejecting the New Covenant in Christ’s blood, preferring a salvation—by legalistic “works”. They shun the New Covenant, and then believe their individual “works” can save them! You simply do not see this, because you are misled by the Society’s literature and rhetoric. (1 Co 11:24-25, Matthew 26:27-28, John 6:47-51and 53-56)
When you reject God’s provision to “come to Him through Christ” this way, and then try to “work out your own salvation”; you insult Jehovah God, who gave his only-begotten Son for your sins!
Rejecting salvation for themselves, they then go door-to-door to offer salvation to others—not understanding that they cannot offer to someone else what they themselves do not possess! NOT even one of us can redeem ourselves through “works”.
If you do not “know” Jesus Christ in this “Way”, in Jehovah’s “Way”….then you have been misled. But—you do not need to stay misled! Why not pray to Jehovah—through Christ Jesus, and ask Him to show you “How” to be saved! That you want to KNOW Christ Jesus! If you are sincere—He will show you!
I will pray for you Jaz!
In Christ,
exjwLaurie
The Bible does not contradict itself only when you go to the original translations before they were sometimes badly translated to English. The parts written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. All translations lose something in translation.
AMEN! Sister exjwLaurie. You have eloquently explained God’s plan of salvation which is through grace,- not by works. It is through Jesus’s blood that we are saved. Know one comes to the Father but by Jesus. Thank you sister for taking the time to write your comments.
Thank you Sandra! God Bless you! I felt compelled to respond to Jaz’s comments because the Witnesses simply do not “know” Christ the way we do as Christians. It is not their fault–I too, was just as blind as they are to the necessity of being “born again”, for most of my life.
To hear the words “faith in Christ” in your ear is one thing, but–to “receive” Jesus into your heart and your soul is quite another! Woefully—that is not a “truth” you will learn at a Kingdom Hall.
It is a distinction that I pray about every single day–that God will open their hearts to.
I hope you will join me in my prayer for the day when God will pour His Spirit into their hearts through His Grace, and provide them the Faith to receive the GIFT of truly “knowing” Jesus, the Risen Christ as their ONLY Lord and Savior.
Be Blessed Sister Sandra!
exjwlaurie, dont JW’s put the watchtower above the bible in importants? Dont they put their “prophets” above the bible, in importants? How can they not see through this deception, with as many false “prophets” as they have had (I am refering to date setting)? How about the founder of JW, Russell, claiming to know the Greek alphabet, but not being able to read Greek? etc, etc, etc.
Also, very well said, referring to salvation through grace, not works. Amen to that!!!
Hi Adam!
The “Society” (WTB&TS) uses various ways to describe their Organization and their Leadership (the Governing Body); they steer clear of calling themselves “prophets”.
They have referred to themselves as “God’s Wifely Organization”, “The Ark of Salvation”…..you get the idea. And the Witnesses believe it to be true.
The Witnesses call their belief system “The Truth”. They are “in the TRUTH” as they say. If you are NOT a Witnesses then–you are NOT “in the Truth”. You are “worldly” (of the world) and will die at Armageddon. That is what they believe.
The implied message of their rhetoric (to their rank and file members) is this: “What we teach is from Jehovah and has His stamp of approval. So believe it without question. To question us, is to question Jehovah.”
To openly doubt them is to invite public reproof, even disfellowshipping. Many-a-time, even as a young child, my mother shook her finger in my face for having “questions” which she couldn’t answer about certain doctrines. It is pretty sad when a six year old can see inconsistencies, holes in their doctrines; that the Society hadn’t quite answered yet. She accused me of “running ahead of Jehovah’s Organization”. I was six!
One of the epiphanies God gave to me, was in the Kingdom Hall during a Sunday morning meeting. A Circuit Overseer who visited our Congregation said this (which was QUITE eye-opening for me):
“The Society knows that if anyone ( any member) studies the Bible alone–without using their literature–that particular Witness will leave the Organization within two to three years. BUT–if you study ONLY the Society’s Literature WITHOUT the Bible, you will remain a faithful Witness.”
WOW! I was stunned. I looked around the Kingdom Hall to see if anyone else was shocked by that statement! What he was saying to me was this:
“Anyone who studies ONLY the Bible will eventually see that we are teaching falsehood, and thus–in time–will leave this organization. But–if you study ONLY our literature–without the “light” of God, you will remain faithful as a Witness.” WOW!
I had been a Witness for 28 years when this revelation came directly from the mouth of a Circuit Overseer, to me. Jehovah was beginning to open my eyes.
So my answer is yes–the Society values their own literature over the Bible; and the faithful followers of their Organization do so as well–which sadly, my family is a living testament to. My sister remembers that statement from the Circuit Overseer also, but was not offended by it–she is surprised that I was!
Though the Society does not claim (verbally) to be a prophet–they insinuate it in their teachings, both verbally and in written form (literature).
As a Witness–You ARE allowed to question the Bible. You are NOT allowed to be vocal in question of the Society’s teachings. There WILL be repercussions for “openly” doubting them.
Regarding CT Russell, if he were still alive today–he would have been disfellowshipped by now! He is rarely mentioned in their literature–if ever.
I hope that answers your questions adequately.
Bless you Adam!
exjwlaurie,
Among other things, you posted: If you are NOT a Witnesses then–you are NOT “in the Truth”
My Comment: You are not correct about many things, because you do not believe in the complete word of God, or Jesus Christ.
John 8: 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins.
Because you do not believe in Jesus, then you chose to believe in a lie.
Hi Gloria,
You have taken that ‘sentence’ totally out of it’s context. You did not read my comment to Adam in full–you just skimmed what I said, and then blasted me for your mis-interpretion of my words.
Still- I forgive your bold but FALSE statement, when YOU said this to me:
“exjwlaurie,
Among other things, you posted: If you are NOT a Witnesses then–you are NOT “in the Truth”
“My Comment: You are not correct about many things, because you do not believe in the complete word of God, or Jesus Christ.”
My response to you Gloria:
Here (below) is the FULL paragraph, of which you selected only one sentence to ‘chastise’ me over. In this FULL paragraph, I said this–regarding the utterly misled; Jehovah’s Witnesses:
“The Witnesses call their belief system “The Truth”. They are “in the TRUTH” as THEY say. If you are NOT a Witnesses then–you are NOT “in the Truth”. You are “worldly” (of the world) and will die at Armageddon. That is what they believe.”
I said (now with emphasis): “THAT is what THEY believe”.
That is what I said in full–I am clearly saying what it is that THEY “believe” to be “true”; and I do NOT share that belief with them!
I WAS “formerly” a Jehovah’s Witness for many years–most of my life. But then–God came and got me, literally–right out of a Kingdom Hall and drew me to His Son for my redemption.
I never went back again–though I lost my family and friends over my stand “IN Christ” and “FOR” Christ. They disowned me for my Faith in Christ Jesus!
That week, when God drew me OUT of the Kingdom Hall….in April 2009–I received Christ Jesus through the FAITH that God poured into my broken heart–and I gave my life to Christ. I didn’t “know” him when I “WAS” a Witness. But as a Born again believer, I DO “know” him now! He is my Lord and Savior–my Redeemer; since April 2009. Praise God!
But (above) I was asked a question by a reader named “Adam” regarding Jehovahs Witnesses. I was merely answering HIS question about “their” beliefs.
You should go back and read all the comments I have made, for example to “Jaz” (in full–not skimming), you will see by my words, that you have accused me unjustly.
I don’t know you–but I would never have made such an accusation about you regarding your faith in Christ. Only God can read hearts!
I don’t need you to believe me Gloria, but I certainly won’t stand for someone to make a false accusation about my Faith in Christ Jesus and in the Word of God; especially when that person selectively skimmed my words–and then unjustly blasted me over THEIR utter misinterpretation and mis-application of them.
ex-jwlaurie
Exjwlaurie,
Two things:
Just in general First pointing out errors against the Word of God in general are not accusations. For Christ told us that his word is for teaching among other things.
Second I do apologize for my comment. I actually did read your entire comment but mistakeningly misread “they.”
God Bless
Apology accepted! Thanks for that.
I am so used to being on the defense by the rhetoric-based attacks I get from Witnesses, that I am generally always prepared for them.
On the other hand–I usually receive kindness and support from fellow-believers in Christ–and it is such a blessing to receive it!
So, I am caught a bit off-guard when I find the need to defend my faith to another servant of Christ.
God Bless you as well
Hi Adam. Do you know that song by Adam and the Ants that goes Goody Two Shoes Don’t drink Don’t Smoke?
Interesting commentary on Babylon…too bad these dims dirtied it up with their bashing of JW’s with lies and half-truths. You’re disparaging God’s organization which btw they never call it “God’s wifely organization” – that refers to the bride of Christ which is the 144,000 not the WT Society. I’ve know quite a few like you who come to meetings never “make the truth their own” and are easy prey when something challenging happens in their life. You list so many lies it’s amazing but that’s the fuel of Satan and his apostates – LIES. It’s what makes you tick, right? It’s your right to delude yourself and i really won’t lose sleep over you and the choices you’ve made but thought i’d call you two out for your sick lies for the benefit of others who might read this.
Hi John, you must be “studying” with them.
Having been a devout Witness for 35 years–I saw how the new ones would be quite caustic to any who did not agree with them. That is a normal emotional reaction, based upon fear.
Fear that the other person could be right! I used to experience that ‘fear’ myself when I would be in the field ministry, talking to a born again Christian at the door. Now I see WHY, it is because the born-again Christian WAS right!
The Witnesses do not have THE truth as they profess. They have a man-made religious organization.
Jesus didn’t die to give us a religion! He wants to have a personal relationship with “whosoever will” believe upon him, and will call upon his name, for their redemption and salvation! (Acts 4:8-12)
That means you too John!
Jesus IS the ONLY “Way”. He IS the ONLY “Truth” and everlasting LIFE is ONLY available IN Christ; as a born again believer! (John 14:6; John 3:3,5,7)
There is NO ‘other’ TRUTH that saves!
Any other “way” of salvation offered by any religious organization other than through FAITH in the blood of Christ for redemption and salvation; is called “a different gospel”.
Paul said that anyone who teaches a “different gospel”, let him be accursed! Paul taught us quite clearly that the gospel of Christ Jesus was of “first importance”. (Galatians 1:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
The day that I told my father, a Jehovah’s Witness Elder–that I was born-again in Christ, and that I was calling to share with him, the “Gospel of Christ”, my dad said:
“What is the gospel of Christ?”
I cried as I told him, because–in THAT moment–I saw how he had no knowledge regarding HOW to gain redemption and salvation! He slaved for a religion that never even told him HOW to be saved! It crushed my heart–the realization of that.
Here’s my sweet daddy, a faithful Witness, an Overseer (before the Elder arrangement was established) and then as an Elder (under the rotational Congregational servant’s arrangement, which was established in the 1970’s) for 60-some years; he has given his whole life to the WTB&TS, and here: he had never even “heard” the gospel of Christ Jesus for salvation. The ONLY “way” of salvation; he didn’t even know of it. SO sad.
That–says it all right there.
I understand you wanted to get “on the record” by calling into question the “truths” I have relayed in my posts. As a former baptized member, who knows this Organization first hand; I too was utterly indoctrinated as a Witness. So–I too, got fiercely angry of anyone who would reveal the Society’s doctrines as being false. Anger is a knee-jerk response, usually achieved through “conditioning” of an individual’s mind over time through repetitive suggestion.
But–they are false. One day–you WILL know it too!
The benefit of having been a Witness for 35 years is that I know what they believe, so I can understand the attacks upon me, knowing it is a fear-based response.
But your attack of me allows me this opportunity to respond;
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Vs 18) “For Christ died for sins once for ALL, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” 1 Pe 3:15,18)
The WTB&TS has added the word “time” to verse 18, which changed the meaning from all (meaning people) to all (meaning time). But if look up this verse in a Greek Concordance–you will see that the word “time” does not appear in verse 18.
The addition of this word, “time” alters the fact that Jesus died for ALL people, for ALL mankind. It obfuscates the TRUTH. ALL mankind inherited Adam’s sin. ALL mankind will have the opportunity to “come to Christ” for their redemption from that sin which we ALL inherited from Adam. Christ Jesus IS our sufficiency!
Jesus Christ died for your sins, and the “gift” Jehovah gives us is free; and that gift is “FAITH” in Christ.
Faith in the Blood of Christ Jesus to redeem each individual believer who ‘chooses’ (yes–receipt of faith in Christ is a choice we all will have the opportunity to accept or reject) to receive the gift of faith into their heart–and who then joyfully exercises that faith in Christ–for salvation!
As the Witnesses love to say: “Faith without works is dead.”
This is true! But you must RECEIVE the FAITH in Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior– “before” you can perform the work of preaching salvation. We are not saved BY our “works”….a born again Christian is saved FOR good works that glorify God.
Praise Jehovah–I NOW know “Whom” the TRUTH truly IS! His name is Jesus! Thank you for allowing me to share that with you today. Preaching Christ Jesus is what I’m here to do–until Christ returns! I am a follower and a servant of Christ Jesus–my Lord and Savior.
John–You should pray to Jehovah that He might open your eyes to the redemption and salvation available to YOU, in Christ. The New Covenant in his blood is free for everyone to receive! Not just 144,000!
If you are sincere in your prayer, and in your desire to know “THE Truth”–He will open your eyes too! Please John–accept the free gift from Jehovah, accept the Faith He longs to “gift” to you! I know first hand–the difference this “gift” will make in your life!
I will pray for you, that His grace will be poured out in a mighty way toward you, so that you too, can be “drawn” to God’s ONLY provision for redemption and salvation, and be “enabled” to BELIEVE IN our only Lord and Savior–Christ Jesus! (John 6:35-37,44,,53-58;63-65)
God Bless.
Fools bickering over doctrines. Ahmadinejad most likely will not be in power when that time comes. also Babylon wil be the world capitol again BEFORE God destroys it permenantly. Stop worrying about what dead branch you are hanging off of and focus on truth. The holy spirit of Christ educates us in the mysteries of God. Forget about Babylon and focus on glorifying the Son so that you may escape the second death.

Guys i m really confused about this, all of you guys you are commenting facts that i m understanding too.but which is the really thing must we fallow? Is the Jehovah’s witness or Christ salvation ?
I though that people who are close to Babylon ,Egypt ,Israeli ,acts they must come out in numbers and put in their comments because they ware privileged their forefathers they have seen the truthfulness of Jesus Christ .help me people i need to do the right to God
Hi Valerie!
Do not be confused! God Bless you for wanting to do the right thing by Him. You have a heart for Truth…..
“I am the Way, THE TRUTH and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through ME!” Jesus spoke these words!
Christ Jesus alone IS “the TRUTH”–always and only.
He ALONE is our sufficiency, there is no other “Way” to salvation except through placing our faith firmly in the blood of Christ Jesus. His blood represents the New Covenant of God; this “Way” to eternal life was established by Almighty God our Father and is in the blood of our Redeemer. Yes! Jesus Christ alone is “THE Way” established by Jehovah God for all of mankind.
Sadly–The Witnesses will not lead you to Jesus for your redemption. That is a fact. As a former Witness of 35 years, I can promise you–they will not teach you this “TRUTH” about the necessity of being partakers of the New Covenant for your eternal redemption. Yet, Jesus Himself taught:
“I tell you the TRUTH, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. WHOEVER eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life….”‘ John 6:53-54.
Jesus taught that we must be “born again” to to enter the Kingdom of God:
‘In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the Truth, NO ONE can SEE the Kingdom of God UNLESS he is born again.” John 3:3
He stated it for a second time in verse 5:
Jesus answered, “I tell you the Truth, NO ONE can ENTER the Kingdom of God UNLESS he is born again.”
And even for a third time for emphasis in verse 7:
“You should not be surprised at my saying, “You MUST be born again.”
Anyone who teaches you a “different gospel” than that which Jesus Christ himself taught for redemption, salvation and everlasting life is lying to you. Valerie, it is just that simple. There is no “other truth”. Do not be misled.
Put your complete FAITH in Christ Jesus alone as your only Redeemer, Lord and Savior, he ALONE is our sufficiency–there is no other Way, no other Life and no other TRUTH.
God Bless you!
Certainly must agree with the witnesses on the trinity and on neutrality in politics and wars. I know from the scriptures that the soul is mortal. And for this person’s claims they are unverifiable, for how can they be sure they remembered them correctly? This person claims that a CO said, ‘whoever studies the Bible on their own leaves the truth, but whoever studies our publications doesn’t.’ Yet if this person was a witness for 35 years this supposed incident was so long ago.
I studied the Bible on my own an read various commentaries by people on Christendom, some I agree with, but others not so much. Yet I came to the conclusion that the morals they teach, namely: abstain from blood, fornication, idolatry and covet ness, and so on are true and basic teachings such as Jesus’ Messianic Kingdom, the mortality of the soul, the purpose for the earth – that it be inhabited, the understanding of the trinity as false and so forth are true. I myself have examined many sects (I do not use the negative sense of the word) and found the Catholics and Orthodox way off and most Protestants as well as other Christian groups far off especially when it comes with involving themselves in politics, so where else would I go but to Jehovah’s Witnesses?
They do not teach a salvation by works idea, but that you need works to prove your faith, but whatever you do you always sin and can never pay back what was given, so as the scripture says, “Jehovah gives undeserved kindness to the humble one.”
Now this person (by the way if I post this in response to you who says they were a witness for 35 years please ignore how I dot refer to you directly, I’m just not sure if I should post this as a standalone or a reply) says her father was an elder and didn’t know the gospel? Now regardless if we as Jehovah’s Witnesses are in Jehovah’s favor we understand the meaning of Jesus sacrifice and God’s purpose.
Adam brought sin and death into the world. He was a perfect man, so regardless of the veracity of the trinity, Jesus came down and became a perfect man. He was tested and as Daniel and Isaiah show He died and “by his wounds we were healed” and this “brought and end to sacrfice.” He took the place of Adam, so all men who put and exercised faith in him would in effect be counted as children. This was a free gift, undeserved and grace on God’s part. John the Baptist was called John because it was a sign “Jehovah is Gracious” which is what John means. Jesus was called Jesus because “Jehovah is salvation” and Emanuel because God was with Jesus am all who followed him and in a way better than any angel who represented God Jesus showed who God was.
No works of law could give salvation, it was a gift given to the humble who repented and repudiated sin.
Secondly, though Jehovah’s witnesses claim to have the truth it is only logical for them to say they do, just as Baptists would not be egotistical to say they have the truth. Whatever you believe you think it is the truth and there is no reason to say otherwise.
As far as preaching “work out your salvation with fear” I must say the scriptures say that. Now neither I, nor JWs nor Paul meant that this “working” would grant salvation, but it does mean that it is a work to avoid sins, for example some one who is addicted to pornography would have to work to get rid of such sins, this work is what indirectly saved him, but it’s the faith that his works prove that caused God to show him grace.
So saying Jehovah’s Witnesses are like some in the early Chrisitan Congregation who said only by works one can get saved is wrong. It is like those who say James and Paul were contradicting rah other on this issue, when they were really complementary. Just in one subject you may stress the importance of works in salvation and in teaching hummilty and about God’s love you stress that no matter what it is still undeserved.
You say that are works include going to meets with perfect attention and preaching regularly and that by these we will get saved, but we view them not as a means of salvation, but of obedience. The scriptures say, “do not forsake the gathering of yourselves” and in another place “you will make disciples of me.”
Your point that we only teach about Jesus, but don’t really teach faith in him would be valid if we do not teach the truth, but we do teach as the scriptures do that Jesus was the son of God and not God, that he was lesser than God and though he said “I and the father are one” he said so to illustrate their unity (for in the OT angels are sometimes called Jehovah and then next line over they are identified as angels and not God, and a Man and a Woman are told to become One and Jesus told his followers to be one just a he and his father were one).”
True we do not stress Jesus as much as most religions in proportion to what we discuss at our meetings we meet more frequently, so we give great attention to him, yet we give Credit to Jehovah who arranged for it. We acknowledge that Jehovah gave his son “through whom he made the system of things.” So when the writer of Hebrews, likely Paul writes about the Son “The heavens are the the work of your hand.” We know that though the OT passage refers to Jehovah it doesn’t mean (on its own) that Jesus is Jehovah God, but since they are “one” and Jesus was God’s “Master Worker” they can both get the credit just as when David, Abner and Abshai are all given Credit for defeating the Edomites, they were responsible since one was Kin who ordered it, Joab was army chief and so also got credit for it.” Besides we know scriptures that refer to Jesus such as “out of Egypt I called my son,” also refer to Israel and “Today he has become my son also had a refrence to Solomon.
Well before I go to off track with this trinity issue I better end this comment. But b
Seems to me that you put the son before the father. Yes he died for our sins to save us, but it was God who sent him. Your comment ” put your complete faith in Jesus Christ alone bothers me. Do you believe in the trinity? If so That is a belief I completely disagree with. If anyone reads the bible they could not believe in the trinity. So many scriptures mention Jesus speaking about his father, John 14:28 is one they should read. Also who was he praying to when he was dying on the cross.
The jehovah Witnesses try harder then any religion I know to bring the knowledge of God to the people. They give so much time with no compensation. They attend meetings twice a week, study for those meetings and go out door to door to try and bring people to God. They have a great web site Jw.org, that has many different bibles you can research and many different languages. They have videos you can watch, many for children. I’ve read the watch tower and awake, every thing in them is backed up by scripture, and like I said they have different bibles on the site the one I use is on the website. I’m sixty three years old and have been to many churches in my life. I believe that the jehovah witnesses are as close to the truth as it gets.
Sorry, but I thought this was about Babylon!
Trinity = Truth! C’mon friends. Please don’t err. Make sure your soul goes from Revelation 3 to 4 rather than skipping all of that and ending up directly at Revelation 20! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
I was born and raised a Catholic. I was raised and taught by the Word and the Holy Spirit that’s why I refused to convert when the SDA LDS JW and others came along trying to sell me their religions. Applying godly wisdom to knowledge thereby is Wisdom justified by her children. Jesus Christ is KING of Kings and LORD of Lords The Word Of God who was conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary and man. For our sake he suffered under Pontius Pilate suffered death and was buried. He was quickened by the spirit and preached to the those who died in the flood of Noah so that that too would hear and come alive in the spirit. Whoever denies these gospel truths preachers another gospel and another Jesus with another spirit that I did not receive because I already received the Holy Spirit. Babylon is antichristian and anti-Israel through whom Christianity came. They said that they are going to destroy Saturday and Sunday so beware and keep your eyes peeled you soldiers of the cross. MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH is false religion and the rebuilding of that old city of Babylon has something to do with it. The beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit. The whore that rides the beast.
Beware of antichrists and false prophets who deny the message in the gospel to suit their own agendas. Man cannot live on bread alone but needs every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Know the difference between the Word of God and the deceitful lies of Satan the devil. The works you are to do is believe in the one who God the Father has sent; Jesus my lord my God my all. Bear fruits of the Holy Spirit. There is a specific list of fruits of the Holy Spirit in the new testament of the Bible that we who worship in spirit and truth are bear such as love, peace, joy, hope, longsuffering, charity, endurance, and the list goes on. read them for yourself in the New Testament of the Bible and also, please pray for the gift of discerning the spirits.
The Church is neither a building nor an organization but believers in God and Jesus as our savior.
