Former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski has urged US President Barack Obama to make it clear that if the IAF tries to launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities via Iraqi airspace, the US Air Force will shoot down the Israeli jets.
«We are not exactly impotent little babies», Brzezinski told The Daily Beast in an interview published Sunday.
«They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch? … We have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a «Liberty’ in reverse».
The USS Liberty was a US Navy technical research ship accidentally struck by the IAF on the fourth day of the Six Day War, after being misidentified as an Egyptian warship.
Brzezinski, who was former president Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser, endorsed Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. However, he has no role in the current administration.

Zbigniew Brzezinski has become an old man, and his mind might not be as quick as in his younger years.
When Brzezinski claims «They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq», He basically have annexed the air space over the sovereign state of Iraq. The US have already given back the military control over Iraq to the elected government of Iraq.
By threaten to shoot down IDF aircrafts, who are not attacking US military installations, the US will basically declare war on Israel. There can be no justification for this kind of hostile acts, under any International law or convention.
What Brzezinski is promoting is the law of the jungle. and anarchy in relations between two free and democratic nations, The US and Israel.
The good news is that Israel do not have to listen to Brzezinski, who is out of power in the US.But his message is still alarming. Because it is a symptom of a World that is turning extremely hostile to Israels need for safety and security.
It has suddenly turned more important for a top US military adviser and a spokesman for Pentagon to protect the regime in Iran, than to stop a proposed new genocide of the Jewish people.
