A Catholic nun kisses the hand of a statue of Padre Pio. This Italian priest has departed, but the Pope in Rome has not yet told his faithful to worship him as a saint.
Psalm 30:4
Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name.
Since the Bible speaks about saints as the living people among us, why does this lady kiss the hand of a departed priest? Why does the Pope have to wait till after people have died, to try to find out who is worthy of sainthood, and who is not? How do the Pope examine their hearts, after they have departed?
The stone foot of the Apostle Peter in the Vatican needed to be repaired wit a lead cover. Simply because the stone was washed away, by millions of «Holy kisses» and touches from faithful servants of the Pope.
A Catholic faithful kisses the statue of »Baby Jesus». Since Jesus grew up, was crucified and than departed for Heaven. I guess the «true Jesus» can never be found in stone and wood items like these?
During Catholic feasts, the faithful kisses the feet of statues claimed to be of Jesus of Nazareth. But why is he still hanging on the cross. Should not an empty cross and an empty grave be our sign of serving a resurrected Lord?
Do Jesus of Nazareth takes pleasure in anyone kissing the feet of a statue claimed to be of Him, or do he take pleasure in people obeying the Word of God, and doing the Gospel?
Catholic priests worship stone and wood. Here they are kissing the alter. Anyone: Please show me one line in the Bible, were anyone kissed the alter?
My comment:
Jeremiah 10:14
Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud; they have no breath in them.
Since God of the Bible did not allow his chosen people to put idols of anything into the two temples in Jerusalem, who gave the Catholics permission to change this command? Jesus did not tell us to make statues of Him. Rather he told us to obey the Jewish scriptures, the Word of God. Jesus said that he was not going to abolish a single letter of the Law.
Who changed it? When did it actually happen?
Matthew 5:18
I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Since Jesus have not yet returned, and everything is not yet accomplished. what makes the Pope in Rome even think he can change the Law?
Mark 13:31
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
