The European Union made a major policy shift on Monday. The foreign ministers from the 27-nation bloc issued a statement on the Middle East peace process which did not include a traditional call for Hamas to renounce terrorism, recognize Israel and accept previous agreements between Israel and the PLO.
The statement did call for :
«Continued encouragement for inter-Palestinian reconciliation behind [Palestinian Authority] President Mahmoud Abbas».
The statement also encouraged:
«All Palestinians to find common ground, based on nonviolence, in order to facilitate reconstruction in Gaza and the organization of elections».
Meanwhile, MEP Geert Wilders, the head of the right-wing Dutch Freedom Party which recently did well in European Union elections, told The Jerusalem Post in an exclusive interview last Friday that the EU is «one-sided and always against Israel». He went on to say that in the Middle East, Israel is the «only light of democracy» and that Islamic war was «against us all». Referring to Iran’s renegade nuclear weapons program, Wilders lamented that «Israel is more or less on its own».
I would like to express my views by quoting a Jewish prophet:
Joel: 3: 1-2.
1 “In those days and at that time,
when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will gather all nations
and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. [a]
There I will enter into judgment against them
concerning my inheritance, my people Israel,
for they scattered my people among the nations
and divided up my land.
(end of scripture)
You have to be pretty blind to not be able to see what takes place right in front of your eyes in The Middle east.
It might also be wise to listen to another Jewish prophet , who God of the Bible used to tell us what will happen after the Lord, the true Messiah, has returned to Jerusalem:
This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
My beloved: It will not be very pleasant for you. I have to tell you the truth.
