Israel forced to remove outposts: Angers settlers

Israeli security forces removed two roadblocks near Ramallah and razed several «illegal settler outposts» in Judea and Samaria on Wednesday.

This move has enraged far-right settler activists, who have stepped up their agitation against the Netanyahu government in recent days.

IDF troops took down several huts and a makeshift synagogue from the tiny outpost of Maoz Ester, less than a week after evacuating the same area and removing seven tin shacks. Settlers in the area promised that once more the outpost «will be rebuilt and even expanded».

The IDF also removed two road blocks in the Ramallah area, claiming it «increases the freedom of movement of the Palestinian populace and joins the opening of some 140 barriers that were removed over the past year».

But Palestinians in the area were less than impressed with the removal, explaining that they were insignificant for the residents’ daily life as it only affected a small population.

The IDF also decided to allow Palestinian businessmen to enter Israel, saying that this would “greatly improve the quality of life for these people. Settlers slammed the decision, however, warning that the move increased the risk of terror attacks against them.

«Defense Minister Ehud Barak is carrying on with the policy of playing Russian roulette with the lives of the Jewish settlers», the Binyamin regional council said in a statement. «It’s a shame that Netanyahu continues to pay no heed to the radical leftist policies that Barak is enacting».

On Tuesday, Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said that settler activists involved in a string of recent protests and clashes should turn the volume down and calm down. The Israel Beiteinu minister said he was disturbed by the images he had seen of Monday’s violence, in which activists clashed with security forces over the removal of illegal West Bank outposts.

My comment:

I love this picture of these IDF soldiers. They are young girls, fighting for the freedom of the Jewish people. Its a also a symbol of liberty for women. The future of Israel is in the hands of both Jewish men and women. I support them. As a Christian Zionist I will also keep on telling them that the Messiah loves them. I know the Jewish Messiah. He came to Earth to save me from my sins. And He is coming back to save Israel from her sins, and everyone who believes in Him.
