Saint Denis walked 10 kilometer with his cut off head in his hands. The Vatican canonized this walking zombie, but questioned the length of his walk.
Saint Denis (also called Dionysius, Dennis, or Denys) is a Christian martyr and saint.
In the third century, he was Bishop of Paris.
He was martyred in connection with the Decian persecution of Christians, shortly after A.D. 250. After his head was chopped off, Denis is said to have picked it up and walked ten kilometres (six miles), preaching a sermon the entire way, making him one of many cephalophores in hagiology.
He is venerated in the Roman Catholic Church as patron saint of Paris.

Lets take a look at some paintings and drawings of this “saint”.
The site where he stopped preaching and actually died was marked by a small shrine that developed into the Saint Denis Basilica, which became the burial place for the kings of France.
The feast of Saint Denis was added to the Roman Calendar in the year 1568 by Pope Pius V, though it had been celebrated since at least the year 800. St Denis’ feast day is celebrated on October 9.

To rise from the dead just got a wider meaning.
Jesus rose from the dead, but kept his head on.
It is fully understandable that some of the Roman Catholic stuff is more than a hard sell.
Especially during this weeks of the Olympic games.
We are used to see men able to run over a distance of 100 , 200 or even 1.500 meters. All with their heads on their shoulders.
But what a about a Bishop who walked with his head under his arm for about 10 kilometers?
It is also fully understandable that the Vatican has been unable to measure this walk. In the Catholic encyclopedia is is written that the Pope’s “saint” walked “for some distance”. But the Vatican priesthood were able to set up a church at the site where this remarkable walk ended, and brand the man as a “holy saint”.
We know for sure that when we cut the head of a hen, she might be able to walk a few meters. But no sounds will come from the cut of head during these few seconds. We sometimes use the phrase a“headless chicken”. And after seeing these images, no one can ever again be able to misunderstand.
Forget about walking 10 kilometers: But what about a man who is able to pick up his head, and even walk for 100 meters?

During the French revolution, the bones of the “saints” found in the crypt in the Basilica of Denis were dumped in a sump near by. Many of the Catholic Bishops and priests of those days were beheaded. Non of them, not even one, were able to pick up his own head.
Plenty of the Roman Catholic clergy had looted the people of France, and brought curses down on many by their occult and damnable religion.
Many of those who beheaded the Roman Catholic clergy later lost their own head.
Jesus explains that whose who use swords shall fall by the sword.

I regret the merciless violence that took place during the French revolution. Jesus do not permit violent acts against false teachers, like Roman Catholic bishops and priests. Let God of the Bible handle them in His ways.
Jesus warned us that there would be a great falling away just before His return as the Lion of Judah. Even in the council of pastors, there are those who accept the Pope as a Christian leader.

That’s why Jesus told us in Rev. 3:11-12, “‘I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
This is the final message to the Church in these last days and the struggle to “hold fast” is getting harder and harder even for true Christians, as the Lord seems to be waiting for the last and final moment before coming for His Bride.
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:36).

Why can’t we look at things like this and realize that satan is horrendously lying, and trying to pull a fast one over on us? Why not read the ‘Word’ and ask yourself, “is this something the Lord would do”? This ‘incident’ looks and sounds ‘demonic’, God help those in the Catholic Church, and other ‘systems that will follow.
As a young impressionable catholic girl, these stories are told by others in authority and you listen in awe. My entire catholic community ‘bought’ the story and so for those like me who wouldn’t even think to question authority, we soak it up as truth or inspiring stories! Not until I went out on my own for many years (unshielded by RCC, as before), and beyond the ripe old age of 40 😉 and was slowly losing faith in God…that when I accepted Jesus as my Lord & Savior, that my blindness was healed and only then I began to ‘see’ the lies in such ridiculous stories and the deception in placing any kind of faith or hope in such tales. There is only HOPE in Jesus!

Where in the Word do you get the notion that these practices are ungodly? You do not need a direct commandment in the Bible to be able to discern holy from unholy. There is no mention of SOla Scrptura in the Bible. The Holy Ghost was sent to the Church to guide Her into all truth. That Church has not erred, the Orthodox Church which shares some practives with the Catholic. The Catholic broke away and fell into error but still is closer to the truth than any Protestant group I know of.

You guys often argue against the Catholic practice of venerating the saints because they say the Bible refers to saints as being believers that are still alive here on Earth. Of course, such an argument does little more than to show that Catholics use the term in a different sense now. Saints, in popular usage, refer to those who have died and are in heaven with God, or more specifically, Christians who have been canonized by the Church, or who are officially recognized as “saints” by the Church. Certainly, it is correct to call all Christians “saints” (this is, after all, Biblical), but there is nothing wrong with using the word to refer to those who have died in the state of grace and are now in heaven. They are, after all, saints.
What I like about many of the Saints is many were great sinners as us. But God turned their life around so much.
It goes to show us how we are all called to be Saints.
And it seems the ones who were the worst before their conversion, became the best Saints and its makes it easier for us as sinners to relate to them better.

What provided air movement through the vocal cords(oops they were cut with the blade)?
Would God have done some sort of miracle? I see no evidence in the Bible of God using such morbidity to advance the gospel.
I for one believe in the Resurrection of the dead and know those who have risen in this day and age. I also know many who have been healed. Remember when Jesus rose from the dead, many followed him out of the grave. They had been dead for centuries.. .sheesh. You people. There is a lot of acts of the devil in the Roman Catholic church, still possible for God to do the same.
One act of the devil is many Catholic Bishops and priests raping altar boys. It is obviously possible for God to do the same.
One act of the devil, is Catholic popes, cardinals, bishops and priests to launch inquisitions and imprison and torture people who refused to accept the Papacy and bow down before the ‘Queen of Heaven”. It is possible for God to do the same. But still we must question and discern who was behind all this.
If you are willing to accept this kind of activities to be noble and from “god”, the spirit within you will obviously not have a problem with the adoration of skulls, corpses and bones. Neither the claim that the Bishop of Paris picked up his own head, and walked for six miles.
Jesus the Messiah was quite blunt. The hypocrites do not practice what they preach. The Roman Catholic priesthood is the very limit. They do not preach what they practice. Because what they do in darkness is so devilish, that if millions of Catholics knew, and were not in extreme bondage, they would have fled for their life.

These actions that are represented by priests against children are horrendous indeed. However, the Catholic Church sees a smaller number of abuse cases than many other institutions (see Boy Scouts or even the public schools across America). That is not a justification that it is alright to abuse, just that it happens other places too. Priests are not Saints and need our prayers just like you or me or anyone else. Should they be held to a higher standard? Absolutely. There is plenty wrong in the Catholic Church today, however, it is still the Church that Christ founded… Where do you think your Church, your Bible, your traditions come from originally?

Venerate means ‘to regard or treat with reverence’.
If one makes a sincere vow in his heart to Worship only God, he will find it distasteful to revere anything or anyone other than God.
If one’s heart is divided, then we talk to
dead people, revere statues, and listen to what men for 1800 years proclaim. If a man, claims something for 1 year or 1800 years, it does not make it true.

If you read this instruction given to us by Jesus to St. Paul to the People, in full context, He actually instructs us to intercede for one another, saying that it is, “pleasing to God”
Then Jesus goes on to explain the difference between “mediator” (small “m”) and intercessor and the Mediator (capital “M”), Jesus. Jesus is the only judge and “Mediator”.

Catholics also know that they can and they do pray directly to God.

The problem with that is, if one reads the Bible in the literal sense, one verse at a time, as many do, they come away with many false conclusions, including the conclusion that there exists conflict in the Bible.
This approach to ones faith has a tendency to cause many bad personal interpretations.
At this point, the person becomes a “religion of one”. If, in addition to preaching false ‘Christian” doctrine the person says, something to the effect “I was moved by the Holy Spirit” and their interpretations are incorrect, that person is, by definition, a “False Prophet”
In the ‘Old Days’ they would call this behavior, “Heresy”
We as Catholics know that there is no conflict in the Bible. We know this because we learn Scripture in the context of other books and verses and we learn Bible verses in the context of human and Christian history. We (RCC) are not a church of “sound-bites”
History and context is important because it creates perspective. What people believe today is based on what people believed in, yesterday. There is some truth to the expression “There exists nothing new under the sun”.
A person for instance, doesn’t just wake-up one day and say, “I don’t believe in the Perpetual Virginity of Mary”. Although these may be his words today, they belonged to someone else, yesterday, and this action or prospective is caused by “context”. “Context” can be good or bad; it all depends on whether or not it takes you to right or correct conclusion. The better the context, the better the conclusion.

In millions, Roman Catholics were told not to read the Bible. They were simply not able to understand what they read, they were told by men like Tom. To gain, achieve or understand the true faith, you basically have to attend a Roman Catholic seminary, and study hard for seven years.
And you need to submit to Papal dogmas, and not question the authority of the Pope.
Jesus says the radical opposite. We all need to become like children, to be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Children often knows little but ABC. And that 2+2 is 4.
The Bible is easy to understand, for all who who is willing to accept what is written. And helped by the light of the Holy Spirit, we are enabled to imply the Word of God in our daily life.

Besides haven’t you done any research on protestant ministers. I have always heard that the rate of abuse by protestant ministers was higher than that of Catholic priests, and the rate among teachers was even higher these past decades. A quote:

Back to saints…..the “Practice” of asking for the intercession of Saints is stemmed in Judaism. On Yom Kippur the Jews would ask their deceased relatives to pray for them.
The intercession of fellow Christians, which is what the saints in heaven are also clearly does not interfere with Christ’s unique mediatorship because in the four verses immediately preceding 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says that Christians should interceed: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and pleasing to God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:1–4). Clearly, then, intercessory prayers offered by Christians on behalf of others is something “good and pleasing to God,” not something infringing on Christ’s role as mediator.
But asking one person to pray for you in no way violates Christ’s mediatorship, as can be seen from considering the way in which Christ is a mediator. First, Christ is a unique mediator between man and God because he is the only person who is both God and man. He is the only bridge between the two, the only God-man. But that role as mediator is not compromised in the least by the fact that others intercede for us. Furthermore, Christ is a unique mediator between God and man because he is the Mediator of the New Covenant (Heb. 9:15, 12:24), just as Moses was the mediator (Greek mesitas) of the Old Covenant (Gal. 3:19–20).

What is possible for God, do not reduce Him to the level of the Devil. God will simply not fall to such a low level, like sending a Roman Catholic priest to rape an altar boy.
God did not stop these crimes against humanity to take place, might be for many reasons. One of them seems to be, to expose the evil of the Vatican Priesthood. My best guess: Jesus hoped that these crimes, would be enough to open the eyes of Roman Catholics.
The Bible explains that there will be people who refuse to repent, putting their hope in their idols. They will rather curse God who have explained to them, that their shameless idolatry will take them down the road to Hell. The final judgment will be fair and just.

The sins of the priests raping others did start to open my eyes many years ago. Many Catholics will say that the devil used these sins to tempt me and to lure me away from Holy Mother Church, and that I am now in the hands of the devil b/c I have left Holy Mother Church.
The fire of the Holy Spirit alive in my soul tells me otherwise.

Paul tells us to speak up and in languages we all can understand for the edification of the church meaning fellow christians. Do Catholics still call themselves Chritians? 1 cor 14:26

Thats because Saints in Heaven are alive and not dead that is why we ask for their intercessions to Jesus, who in turn asks God Our Father.
Saints are not dead and they are not in Sheol. They are in heaven and alive with God. In Mark 9:4 Jesus is seen conversing with Elijah and Moses. Jesus tells the good thief “Amen I say to you, this day you shall be with me in Paradise”. The Saints in heaven are more alive now then when they were on earth. We know that Angels and Saints place the prayers of the holy ones at God’s feet (Rev 5:8; Rev 8:3-4), supporting prayers with their intercessions. The martyrs underneath the heavenly altar cry out for earthly vindication (Rev 6:9-11).
There is one mediator between God and man, but we share in Christ’s priesthood, and our intercessions and prayers for eachother do have power. To share in Christ’s priesthood means to share in his mediatorship, both in heaven and on earth. 1 Tim 2:5 confirms that we share in Christ’s mediation, when we read it in context. In verses 1-7, St. Paul asks Christians to participate in Christ’s unique mediation by offering prayers and intercessions for all men: “this is good and pleasing to God”. We are called to unite ourselves to the one mediator Christ, “who gave himself as a ransom for all,” by praying for all men, through Christ. All prayer whether in heaven or on earth, is in Christ and through Christ, our one mediator and high priest. Christ himself is the vine between the branches. We and the Saints form one communion, one body of Christ, being members of Him and members of one another. They can hear us and they are concerned for our Welfare. In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man (Lk 16:19-30), the departed rich man is able to pray to Abraham and interced for his brothers. This implies that there can be communication across the abyss.
And then you may say why pray in front of relic……or why do some pray in front of Cross or in shrine or in a Church for that matter! And relic our connection to that saint just like photo of lost relative or clothing as way to remember that particular person!

The Pope has in your opinion the ability to be the replacement of God the Father. The Pope can discern, often hundreds of years after a person has departed. The Pope have made his priesthood grave looters, who take the dead up from the grave. They examine their skulls and bones, and take the remains through a process of “beautification”.
They even pray to the departed soul, so find out if any “miracles” will take place after such prayers.
Than, they might be declared as “saint”.
I have told many Catholics, that if the person who have departed, did not make it to the Kingdom of Heaven. You will simply entertain demons in your prayer life. And these demons will surely make your church a “house of Demons”.

The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers asking individuals in heaven for their prayers. Why, then, do many Catholics pray to Mary and/or the saints, or request their prayers? Catholics view Mary and the saints as “intercessors” before God. They believe that a saint, who is glorified in Heaven, has more “direct access” to God than we do. Therefore, if a saint delivers a prayer to God, it is more effective than us praying to God directly. This concept is blatantly unbiblical. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we, believers here on earth, can “approach the throne of grace with confidence.”
First Timothy 2:5 declares, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” There is no one else that can mediate with God for us. If Jesus is the ONLY mediator, that indicates Mary and the saints cannot be mediators. They cannot mediate our prayer requests to God. Further, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ Himself is interceding for us before the Father: “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
With Jesus Himself interceding for us, why would we need Mary or the saints to intercede for us? Whom would God listen to more closely than His Son? Romans 8:26-27 describes the Holy Spirit interceding for us. With the 2nd and 3rd members of the Trinity already interceding for us before the Father in heaven, what possible need could there be to have Mary or the saints interceding for us?
Catholics argue that praying to Mary and the saints is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for us. Let us examine that claim. (1) The Apostle Paul asks other Christians to pray for him in Ephesians 6:19. Many Scriptures describe believers praying for one another (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 1:16; Philippians 1:19; 2 Timothy 1:3). The Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking for someone in heaven to pray for him. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in heaven praying for anyone on earth. (2) The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations.
How could they possibly hear the prayers of millions of people? Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead, it is in the context of sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination—activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). In the one instance when a “saint” is spoken to, Samuel in 1 Samuel 28:7-19, Samuel is not exactly happy to be disturbed. It is clear that praying to Mary or the saints is completely different from asking someone here on earth to pray for us. One has a strong biblical basis; the other has no biblical basis whatsoever.
God does not answer prayers based on who is praying. God answers prayers based on whether they are asked according to His will (1 John 5:14-15). There is absolutely no basis or need to pray to anyone other than God alone. There is no basis for asking those who are in heaven to pray for us. Only God can hear our prayers. Only God can answer our prayers. No one in heaven has any greater access to God’s throne than we do through prayer (Hebrews 4:16).

You are so wrong. First of all, this is a parable. I would suggest you read the commentaries by NON-CATHOLICS to find truth.
Let’s look at what Abraham’s answer was (in the parable) in response to the rich man:
“But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.’”
The rich man’s prayer was IN VAIN (as are the prayers to “mary” saints, etc.)
The parable tells us that EVEN if the rich man WAS able communicate with Abraham, all Abraham could do is repeat what is already written about in Scripture. Abraham has no power to coerce and change anything by “being closer to Jesus or the Father” and attempt to twist the hand of the Almighty to get the rich man off the hook. What is done is done. God decided his lot, his his eternal destiny.
Jesus is the ONLY bridge between Hell and Heaven — through faith in Him ALONE do we close the gap — and that gap is forever closed now that Jesus has resurrected. There is no communication between heaven and hell. NONE.
I would suggest you pray for discernment and ask to receive the Holy Spirit so you will have wisdom to interpret the Word of God — and not just follow along with the lies and erroneous commentaries that the RCC puts out.

You are wrong to say there is no communication between Heaven and Hell; didn’t Satan speak with God in Job? And in the parable didn’t Abraham just speak to the rich man? Also Pope Leo XIII is said to have overheard Satan arguing with God. There is no prayer between the two. Abraham cannot help him because he has chosen his fate through his sins. He can help those on Earth though because their fate has not been decided and is still being fought out, even though God does know the outcome.
Also, you told us to read commentaries from other noncatholics “and not just follow along with the lies and erroneous commentaries that the [Roman Catholic Church] puts out”. Catholic commentaries are written the same way as the others: through prayer, study, and reason. The only difference is that they are reflective of The Church, and take from the rich sources within The Church.

I have prayed in front of hundreds of bone relics of catholic saints. I, too, believed that praying to an image or statue was like remembering a beloved friend alive in heaven. I have a rich catholic history. I have processed with JPII on the streets of Rome, participated in a Mass he celebrated in His private chapel, studied at Steubenville…and the list goes on…but I assure you that when I made a sincere heart vow to God to worship no gods before Him and to place no man before Him, my heart was seared with the Holy
Spirit like never before!!!!!!!

And I was once in a Catholic Seminary studying to be a priest and you say that a person has to submit to Papal dogmas, and not question his authority. Buddy there are only dozen Dogmas which we all aspect, but there are hundreds of “DOCTRINE” which is not a “DOGMA.” Of three Catholic Seminaries I ve been to we question doctrines all the time and it happens everyday…..you have never been to a Catholic Seminary I guess??? The Church does not require you to know and understand everyone of its teachings.

I want to give your credit for admitting that you are a Roman Catholic priest, or at least had ambitions to become one.
I have been a non believing but practicing Roman Catholic for many years. Half of my family are Roman Catholics. So I do have some experience in this regard. My local parish priest, even told me that a man can never become sure of his salvation in this life. I was surprised the day I understood that he was not saved. He was a very religious man, but had no faith in Jesus. He just did his job, and told us all he had learned in the seminary.
To people who had Bibles, he had a stern warning. – Be sure the Bible has the imprimatur of the local Bishop. – Anyhow, let some learned priests tell you what the scriptures really mean.
I feel so sorry for you Tom. You know the truth, but the truth is too painful. You have given an oat to defend the Pope, and you do your best. But my best guess, is that deep down in your heart, you start to get the sense that the followers of Jesus obey the truth. And you do not.

Modern-day evangelical Protestants do not teach anything about the saints. Growing up, the only “saint” I ever heard of was St. Francis, because so many people have statues of him in their gardens. I had two Catholic readers ((Streets and Roads), and I read of several saints in these books–I loved those stories!
I think the main reason for why evangelical Protestants don’t teach about saints is that they disagree so very very extremely strongly with the Catholic practice of “praying to the saints” or “petitioning the saint to pray for them.”
Evangelical Protestants do not believe that those in heaven are able to see/hear us, as they are now with Jesus and are no longer interested in things of this earth. So they consider praying to the saints akin to the sin of attempting to communicate with the dead, or even with the sin of idolatry. Therefore, they stay away from teaching about the saints lest anyone be tempted to imitate the Catholics and pray to the saints.
I think another reason why evangelical Protestants don’t teach anything about the saints is that all the saints are Catholic!! After all, we Catholics don’t teach about Protestant heroes of the faith, do we?
Finally, I think that a lot of evangelical Protestants believe that much of the information about the saints is spurious, based on legend rather than fact. Evangelical Protestants tend to stick with “just the facts.”
But they do teach a lot about the great missionaries; e.g., Hudson Taylor, Adoniram Judson, Cameron Townsend, William and Catherine Booth, etc.
They also teach a lot about great preachers, teachers, revivalists, and evangelists; e.g., Jonathan Edwards, Charles Finley, Billy Sunday, A.W. Tozer, Billy Graham, etc.
They also tend to get caught up in adulating current modern-day Christians “celebrities.” In my youth and younger years, these included Dr. James Dobson, Chuck Swindoll, J.I. Packer, Gary Smalley, Chuck Colson, Billy Graham, Corrie ten Boom, Evelyn Christenson, Anne Graham Lotz, Ann Kiemel, Joni Earickson, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Some of these are still around and are very much respected and admired, and I personally admire several of them even though I am now Catholic.
The only current modern-day celebrity that I am following is John Ortberg, because I grew up with him in my church. Many times, I played the piano for him when he sang (wonderful singing voice). We all knew that someday he would grow up to be a “Billy Graham,” and we were right! Great guy and I wish him well and I pray that he will seriously consider Catholicism!
And of course there are the Christian entertainers. In my younger years, these were Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, Michael W. Smith, the Wynans, Petra, 2nd Chapter of Acts, etc. I’m really dating myself here! I have not paid any attention to contemporary Christian entertainers in many years. But evangelical Protestants still get very caught up in buying their albums and promotional products, going to their concerts, etc.
Sometimes things backfire for evangelical Protestants when they lift up a modern-day celebrity, because the modern-day celebrity is caught in a serious sin and/or crime. The one that comes to mind is Ted Haggard, who was the leader of the National Association of Evangelicals.

These things about the saints, such as St. Denis picking up his head or angels taking Saint Catherine of Alexandria’s to Mount Sinai, they are according to legend! The Church itself does not say it is true, but it also does not say it is false because The Church understands that anything, anything at all, is possible with God. A whale swollowed up Jonah, I believe it. He saved the three hebrew boys from the fire, I also believe it. THROUGH Elijah, he raised the widow’s son. I also believe this legend can be true because with God nothing is impossible. I also believe the saints are alive in Heaven, and I hope to one day join them, and that they can ask Him for anything. That is why I ask for their prayers because they see the Beatific Vision and know the Will of The Father.

I have a problem with the notion that God will only cause something to happen or not happen if enough people ask him to do it. If God wants something done or not done, surely the pleadings of men won’t change his mind. Why not pray away all the world’s evils rather than pray for the victims after the fact? Please don’t quote the old saw that “God moves in mysterious ways”; I believe that the God who set the universe in motion also ascribed laws governing it and does not step in to cause or prevent what happens to us.

So, you state that since these events were not recorded in the Bible, that they’re fraudulent. If I apply that same logic, any of the current thousands of Protestant denominations are also fraudulent because they, too, are not explicitly addressed within the NT. The last of the books of the NT was dated to about the end of the 1st century/beginning of the 2nd century AD ca. 90-110 AD, so anything historical having to do with Church history would not be included within the canon of Scripture after that time. Tradition would’ve applied prior to the actual discernment of the canon & the actual compiling of the Christian Bible as we know it now. The Church preceded the text of the Christian Bible, & it was the Church that out it together ca. 500 AD. The Christian Bible was based on the Septuagint then, therefore the Deutercanonical/Apocrypal books would’ve been included in the canon of Scripture. That said, the Church did document historical matters in one way or another. Secular history sometimes intertwined with the Church’s because there was no separation of church & state as we know it now.

So while they may not have the exact dates, events, people, places, & things can be corroborated historically for time.

For anyone who’s seen the movie “Amistad”, when the Africans were awaiting trial in the cell, one of them was looking through an illustrated Bible showing Christ with a halo. They automatically knew seeing Him depicted as such that there was something special about Him – that He walked with the sun shining around Him – that His life was somehow different – that He was kind & loving of people – that He healed the sick – raised the dead – walked on water even! And that He was wrongly put to death, & yet, one of them accepted that Whoever this Jesus was, He was pointing out to Him – even in art – that life goes on after death. Jesus showed Him this truth via art.

Catholics use definition #3. Jesus Christ is Our Lord God, the Logos, God the Son – Jesus Christ – Son of God & Son of Man – the 2nd Person of the Holy Trinity, & as such He is the Light of the world. The halo reflects that of Him.
Legends about the saints, holy men and women of ancient times, are just that. They are not doctrines of any church and no one is compelled to affirm their truth in order to be saved. They can be interpreted metaphorically and symbollicaly to our edification; they can also be ignored.
